Serenity is peace, boredom is a lack of peace...
I think boredom comes when the mind demands to be more occupied than it is, like when we're so used to having to think, or having instant entertainment, and never resting. It's like when we're bored time seems to drag on, I think because the mind is more active than it should be so it keeps registering that it has nothing to do. Modern life is pressured, and it's hard to relax properly when at best there's a time limit on how long we can relax for
Thank you for your comment. Boredom is mental. One chooses to be bored, boredom does not just happen. The mind does need to keep occupied most of the time, both our bodies and mind. We are active creatures by nature
Welcome! A choice, eh? - But why would we choose to be bored? - unless the choice is just to have an overactive mind out of a feeling of compulsion and boredom is a side effect of that choice, maybe? But it is an exciting idea that boredom doesn't have to exist, because it means we won't necessarily need crap in our lives to not feel bored. Humans are fascinating in that they show all shades - even the same person will experience the whole spectrum of emotion to some degree even if their life has a bias
And... winking where you did I have to ask... how do you like to keep active, then?
