I'm totally with you on this one. They need to leave the kids on the compound, establish a no contact order and have authorities present. I don't know what is going on in the compound (apparently neither do the authorities) but this is a friggin' mess. Right or wrong, the life they lead in the surroundings they have is what they know.
In most states, when a child is taken from their parents, the agency is supposed to keep that child in the same county. They have these kids spread out all over the state... of Texas no less. I just don't think the county/state is treating these people very fair. When a radical sect of government-hating polygamist spring up in Texas about 20 years from now, don't be surprised.
Oh, I'm on it. Having moved to Texas, I still feel like I haven't connected yet. After all, I have no bathtub to drown children in and my kids won't fit in the microwave. (I checked.) And I've declared myself perpetually single so I have no opportunity to go slay my lover's lover...so I'm starting a cult. I'm not sure what it will be about, I just know there is going to be a great big gold statue of me.
Great. Now put on your tinfoil hat and let's go sit on the roof and wait for the mothership to come back.
Thank you for putting my thoughts into words. I've been watching this closely, and it reeks of unfair treatment.
(Of course, if the kids were in danger, they had to do something. But this is just cruelty to the victims.)

That's the feeling I got this morning when I was listening to them. It's just ridiculous that they have to travel the entire state of Texas to see all their kids. The woman said she was told they'd keep the siblings together. It appears they are doing a lot more damage in the name of justice.
Ignoring the US Constitution is old hat for these clowns. The only thing that surprises me here is that they didn't burn the place down or kill anyone.
Well said. State officials have an obligation to protect children against abuse. However, such actions should not be indiscriminately targeted against a group as a whole – particularly when the group is perceived as being different or unusual. Actions should be based on concrete evidence of harm and not based upon prejudice.
Exactly! One girl... who can't be found... caused all this trouble... and fled. Hmmmmmm.
It also appears that the authorities have been after this group for at least ten years or more now.

I have no idea why they are shaking down the women and children anyway. If the men are accused of doing this, why haven't they been looking for them? As for splitting them up, I think they've just added more scars to these kid's lives. Shame on them! SHAME!
