Natalie and Nicole helped me cater a bridal shower for one of my friends yesterday. It was a nice experience, and I had a GREAT time. My feet still hurt today though... and I'm tired as HELL!!!

The menu was as follows:

Cheese/Fruit tray with a pear and plum chutney

Crustinis

Assorted tomatoes with mozzarella and basil, drizzeled in Olive Oil

Sun dried tomato pesto

guacamole

salsa

peanut sauce

roasted veggies

beef skewers

chicken satay

"Assorted tomatoes with mozzarella and basil, drizzeled in Olive Oil"

Re:
I never know the proper name for this stuff. I just see it and make it. I just googled it: Yes, it is a caprese salad. (lol)

Re:
it all looks great, btw

i made sausage lasagna last night.  it turned out sloppier than my birthday lasagna but tasted even better.  i couldn't find shredded mozzarella in Sam's club so I had to use fresh mozzarella.  I also had WAY too much of everything but was determined to make it fit into one dish.  So...I'm gonna hafta clean the oven eventually, lol.

The lasagna is delicious though!

Re:
Sloppy is usually guaranteed good tasting. My oven looks a mess. The hostess's oven was clean as a whistle. Even my kids commented on how clean her oven was, then said... "she must not use it at all." Did the fresh mozzarella melt well? I've never used it to cook. I get the block and then shred it myself. I want to make a spinach lasagne.

So, I was listening to "The Splendid Table" on NPR one Saturday afternoon, and they were talking about lasagne. LasagnA is singular, and LasagnE is plural. We spell it with an A, but in Italy they spell it with an E. I'm going to be italian. (lol) My FYI for the day.

Re:
lol!  i'm always looking to expand my knowledge of things.

well i cut it into small pieces, it seemed to melt okay.  there was a good bit of liquid at the bottom i think it was from the tomatoes I added (but thought I drained) and oil from the sausage.

Re:
Yeah, that's my main concern, too much liquid. Spinach is going to create that problem too. Did you boil the sausage before you put it in the dish to bake? I dunno.
