I recently started listening to Amy Winehouse and I have to say that I quite like her. I know that everybody keeps going on and on about her personal issues but I couldn't give a damn about her personal life. I like her music. Especially the version of "Cupid" she has done. I have always liked this song in all it's many incarnation... Sam Cooke (bless you for this, the original!), Johnny Nash did a great Raggae version (this is the one that obviously inspired the Amy Winehouse version), The Detroit Spinners (who put a great spin on this song) and several others. I also got a kick out of her 2003 Frank album song "F**k me Pumps". Too funny.

I love Amy Winehouse. I adored when she started getting praise from critics and MTV over here in the states, although she's a bit overplayed. Her voice is amazing. I love her acoustic stuff, especially You Tube vids of her singing acapella. She's got an amazing talent. Honestly. When she's not looney on smack or crack...

Fuck Me Pumps is wonderful. I'd like to think if that lady got her shit together, we'd be pals =)

Ya Know! I try to foucus on the music. I only discovered her when I was trying to find that song Cupid on Youtube and just came across her version. I had heard her name in the media but not pay it any mind. Now I'm addicted. LOL
