Today B and I have been together for 2 years! 2 WHOLE YEARS!

In my last entry I said we were fighting but it is all sorted out now. We made up on Friday evening and then proceeded to have an awesome weekend.

The main result of the argument is that B said that if I don't want to stay longer than 3 years in Japan, then he won't. That is SUCH a relief. As much as I like Japan and my life here, there are loads of things that really get under my skin and I think I would go insane if I were to be here too long. Of course, I have learnt to adapt to many of the "quirks" of Japanese culture, but I don't want to turn into one of the psycho-long term-gaijin-residents (not to say that all long term expats are psychos, but I know they would have a LOT of trouble re-adjusting to life back in their home countries). I love Australia too much to want to live in Japan forever.

Anyway, the end of a serious fight with B coincided with a big anniversary, so it was a pretty special weekend. He bought me a big bottle of Coco Chanel Mademoiselle... it smells so great. When I am wearing it B can't stop kissing me. I like it. I like it a lot. I paid for the deposit of our ski trip in February (we are going to Hokkaido for the Yuki Matsuri, and for some snowboarding- in the "Some of the Best Powder Snow in the WORLD").

Last night we went in to Osaka for some Improv comedy, kind of "Who's Line is it Anyway"-esque entertainment. There were some moments of pure comedy gold. A couple of other JETS I know were in the show, and they were REALLY good. It's hard not to be jealous of quick-wit. (Usually when I tell jokes they fall flat on their faces and I get pity laughs, or even worse the "yes I am laughing AT you" laugh).

It was really great to go into Osaka.. there were a load of people I hadn't seen in ages at the comedy, so that was pretty good. Also the fact that I had managed to get B out somewhere and he ACTUALLY ENJOYED IT!! It is hard to get B into Osaka, due to the navigational problems we often run into when we go there.

My weekend in a nutshell: Pizza on friday night, J2 Soccer game (Vissel Kobe vs Yokohama) with some Japanese friends on Saturday day, BINGO on SAturday night, lazy morning with B on Sunday morning, shopping in Osaka Sunday afternoon (I bought a really nice top from Next), and improv comedy on Sunday evening. All in all, a wholesome weekend!

Re: 2nd Year Anniversary!
that sounds like an awesome weekend.
I know, I watch the Who's line is it"  and comedians just chatting away on an interview or something, and I always wonder how they can be so quick-witted.  They're brain just doesn't stop rolling out the funny stuff.

I read in a magazine....the trick to telling a good joke.  is to not laugh at your own....unless nobody laughs, then you need to laugh to show em it was the funny part and it was funny.  (and then you just leave the room)  haha.

Re: 2nd Year Anniversary!
Ahh some sound advice there!

I have a nasty habit of laughing at my own jokes. Because I think my own jokes are actually funny. heh
