I was certain you were going to go off on this one. Thank you for your opinion.
If Christianity is truly under attack, wouldn't this be something other than an isolated incident? Wouldn't archbishops around the world be receiving the same specifc threats?
I support Archbishop Bagnasco's right to uphold the Conference's (and the Church's) stance on homosexuality and marriage. I think anyone who threatens him or his community for their stance is absolutely wrong. But I don't think that this is a threat of secular humanism in general -- but rather the actions of an isolated fringe group.

In Italy the big dog of the Bishop's Conference in that nation is the public target for propaganda purposes to strike fear into Christian Moralists. If you think the Red Brigade will not target lower level Priests that openly support Archbishop Bagnasco's position, then you are dreaming. Do you think the threat of the village Priest will make it into the slanted left MSM? I do not.
I am glad you respect Bagnasco's right to uphold the Church's stance on homosexuality, unfortunately if Bagnasco was in another part of Europe, he may be facing hate crimes charges for standing for his beliefs. In his home of Italy he is facing threats on his life. The Red Brigades must have a contingent of homosexuals in their ranks.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion on agreement or disagreement. I stand with the Archbishop.

I'm quite certain that these are two of many towns where his beliefs will not be life-threatening...
