Apparently Americans have a high regard for Chuck Norris beyond his star appeal. His real life work beyond his entertainment star revenue has made him a citizen that is very involved in community work on a level that touches lives on a very positive nature.

The Norris fans look up to the words of Chuck. When Chuck endorsed Mike Huckabee in his weekly World Net Daily column and TV ads (captured on the likes of YouTube) supporting Huckabee for President has many believing that Norris’ influence moved Huckabee from a second tier nominee to a top tier nominee challenging the likes of Giuliani, Romney and Thompson.

The endorsements just seemed to match the timing of Huckabee’s surge in the polls.

Many political analysts and pundits made jokes of the Norris for Huckabee ads when they first came out; however it seems mainstream thinking has been bucked by the poll numbers of Mike Huckabee.

The other top tier GOP nominees believe that Huckabee cannot explain decisions of his past as Governor thus they hope the Huckabee meteoric rise will closely be followed by a meteoric crash.

Time will tell.

Personally I believe Thompson’s politically Conservative talking points are superior to Huckabee’s. Thompson has his own negative past that may rattle Conservatives; however he has more positive input from his past than negative. Thompson’s Federalist approach to solving Social Conservative issues should be appealing to the Slanted Right Republicans as well as RINO moderate Republicans.

In lieu of a Thompson run not overcoming Socially Liberal Giuliani or Mormon Romney, Huckabee would be my next choice.

What about McCain? The former front runner for the GOP nomination has become an enigmatic persona that might actually be influential at the GOP Convention if the delegate selection is too close to call for an outright winner. McCain might influence a choice or be the compromise candidate if the first tally does not select a nominee.

Re: Is Norris a Political King Maker?
ha!  That's kinda funny.  I'm leaning toward Thompson at this point, but Romney is also appealing simply because he managed to succeed in spite of the Kennedy machine!  Watching and waiting as they jostle and nudge one another!

If we voted on President on the basis of a sense of humor, Huckabee might have the advantage.

Now see, I haven't actually heard him speak ... just read a few articles.  (I'm a bit behind on my political jargon at the moment, but I figure I have a year to catch up on it!)
