I have read much from dissatisfied Israelis and American supporters of Israel. The unified conclusion of many is that Olmert screwed up. A majority suggest that Olmert's government will topple and be replaced by a more right wing Israeli Prime Minister. If that were to happen, the logical choice (though not necessarily popular choice) is Netanyahu.

It has been several days I have not read of any action taken by power brokers within the Knesset to topple Olmert. I find this a little surprising. When Olmert's predecessor Ariel Sharon began engaging his "Disengagement" plan, there was all kind of talk of toppling his government. That is what led to the Kadima Party. Sharon simply created a Party that would not give him trouble and would tow his line.

Then the disabling life threatening stroke happened to Sharon and Olmert (a lesser man) took over the reigns of the Kadima Party and the Israeli government.

I am a little surprised a coalition of political enemies has not been formed to give Olmert the boot.

Re: Aftermath (An Israeli’s Perspective After Lebanon)
Have I told you about the religion I'm starting? It's a religion for sinners who want to be sinners but still believe in God! Are you a sinner? A Christian once told me that blasphame of the holy spirit is when a sinner refuses to quit sinning! Does self-rightiousness count? What about speeding? Is speeding a sin? Smoking? Sex outside of marriage? Do any sins count or just certain ones?

Gary I don't know what your religion has to do with my post with Israeli dissatisfaction with the Olmert government, however I guess I will make the mistake of biting anyway.

From my interaction with you I am fairly certain you are the high priest of your religion. Smiley On the other hand I also know that you can be quite intelligent and caring when dominated by a spirit of alchohol.

All have sinned and have come up short in measurement to self-righteousness. That Christian that told you that blaspheming the Holy Ghost is the refusal to quit sinning was mistaken.

There are bad sins and there are small sins. That is why no one is free. That is why the Blood of Jesus is so important to a Christian, the Blood keeps a Christian pure via God known heart felt repentance of a Christian. The repeat sinner's status is between God and his conscience. Humanity loses patience, God always gives opportunity for true repentance.

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what is horrendous sin and miniscule sin. There are always consequences to sin rather large or small. It is better to pay the price in this life than at the judgment seat of God. Plead the blood now.

Re: Aftermath (An Israeli’s Perspective After Lebanon)
So you agree with me.. ."A thing is right or wrong (and to the degree that it is right or wrong) for reasons that can be determined." Interesting... I would not have guessed that! Most Christians want a sin is a sin is a sin as if there is no difference to God! The paradigm seems to be that since God is perfect anything that's not perfect is condemned for the same reason (not being perfect).. as if God is some sort of wierd spiritual entity that can not be in the presence of sin (no matter how insignificant) that he punishes anyone who is not cleansed with the blood of Christ to eternal damnation! Meanwhile there are billions of individuals who have given their life to God in just as many ways (who are not Christians) that are just out of luck! They go to hell for not believing in Christ specifically! This is exactly what makes Christianity a false religion! It's simply not fair and any God worth believing in is! God is the God of everyone or He is the God of no one! Surely He has sympathy for those who seek Him out but guess His name wrong! It's like having to know the password or something! It makes no sense to be a Christian if you believe that what's true should be no different than what's right! You believe in an imperfect God! There's no way around it! There is no way to call what you believe perfect! As for myself... as for Le-way... I believe in a perfect God...which is one that is fair! See ya!

Fortunately for you, you are entitled to your opinion. I disagree with you. Life is not fair, God is Just.
