what is a lecture?

An informal speech presented by an individual to an audience about a specific topic.

ok.. hmm... I think the viewpoint that I agree with. I like it when what I believe is correct, is presented... to know someone agrees with me, because a lot of viewpoints from some people just piss me off because they're either not well thought out, unlogical, unrational or just plain stupid, and closed minded.

disagree.  of course, it has to be balanced somewhat, because despite popular belief, i don't actually know everything.  but i like to keep myself up-to-date with the current arguments against it.  i'm willing to change my opinion on most things, too, so i like to see if i'm still willing to keep my present pov.

Good question if it is a viewpoint I agree With then I assume I have at least a little knowledge on the subject, if I am needing more clarity on the issue, then I would tend to read some books on the subject, then I would turn around and read the cons on the subject.  If I am confident enough, I do not judge my clarity on other peoples responses, and therefore have no problem listening to both sides.

I'm intrigued by opinions different from my own to a degree. I see no need for extensive arguments on a subject I've already researched to the point of forming a firm opinion, but my opinions are so rarely truly firm that I like to hear from every side of an issue.
