You should read Dan Brown's Deception Point.
Its kinda about all of this... in a way.
BTW, why did you turn from being conservative to being liberal?

I found conservatives, in general, to be selfish, cheap and greedy in their dealings with others, including me, as my efforts made millions for others with only a pittance for my share. Conservatives tend to be short sighted and narrow minded in their views and simplistic in terms of solutions to very complex problems. Then I saw the entitlements kick in as my parents aged and now I am on SS/Medicare. This country would be in a hell of fix if it was not for tens of millions getting subsistance level support from SS/Medicare. I wonder how prosperous retail businesses, more often than not owned by conservatives, would be without that monthly infusion of cash. And finally, the change was my own choice over the years of aging and reflecting. I used to object to the cost of all the Hubert Humphrey "giveaway" programs but now I see the wisdom in his remark: "Nobody should have 2 of anything until everybody has 1". I would be in favor of a massive movement of companies to ESOP's [Employee Stock Ownership Plan] as a mean of spreading the wealth more equitably. Thanks for the note and the tip.
