Today, I feel some thoughts coming on at ginormous randomosity so, rather than try to formulate them all into one lengthy and interesting blog, I'll just spit them out at random in hopes of covering all the bases. Here goes...
- Lately, I can almost feel myself getting more and more out-of-shape lately than in quite a while. Sadly, this comes at a time in my life when I have rediscovered the universal beauty that is Little Caesars Pizza. Game over.
- The new Converge album is wildly good. Top 10...here ye' come!!!
- The first Iceburn 7" is still awesome. So is Eyelid "If It Kills".
- If I knew I could get so much money for my crappy old hardcore 7"'s on eBay before, I'd have done this years ago. Between two lots of about 10-12 7"s a piece of bands I will never listen to again like Culture, John Henry West and Frail, I'm netting close to $70. BOO-YAH, son!
- Xbox LIVE just might keep me from killing people.
- The Cubs are all over the sports news now that they've signed a ridiculous 8-year deal with Alfonso Soriano. To me, Soriano is a great player and so forth but I'm highly skeptical that he is worth as much as he got. In a way, the Cubs are just throwing bad money after more bad money but in the short term, they look highly impressive going into 2007. My prediction: the Cubs are taking the National League Central in 2007 with about 93-96 wins. They might get a little competition from Houston who; if they can lock up Carlos Lee, will likely win the Wild Card. Overall though, the Cubs should win the NL Central in 2007. Getting Soriano combined with Aramis Ramirez and Derek Lee makes them the most dangerous offensive club in the National League, sans maybe the Mets or Phillies. Despite this, I think the Cubs quest to buy a championship team for 2007 will blow up in their faces come playoff time. Something tells me that their pitching woes will continue down the stretch. However, their "win now" approach should net them positive results for a few straight seasons until some of their big contract players begin to wear the entire team down. In short, the Soriano deal smacks of a team desperately trying to buy their way into the playoffs but it should pay off, sans any freak injuries (see Derek Lee). Sadly, this means that the team that I want to see emerge from the NL Central will probably be buried in 4th or 5th place next season (see Milwaukee Brewers). It should be interesting.
- Xploited Cinema.com rules. I will be ordering more from them in the future, mark my words!
- DEMONS is a highly brutal movie with some gruesome gore effects. You need to see it.
