Yesterday in band, we ended rehearsal the same way we always do: by gathering around the "ladder" (the drum major's podium) and playing our school fight song. We usually turn and face the football stadium when we play it, since our football team practices at the same time we do. Yesterday, Jerry was the drum major who was on the podium conducting us as we played it. (And for the record, nobody really likes Jerry. Why? Because he's an idiot.) Instead of telling us to face the stadium, he said, "Face this way! Face me!" So we're like, "Uh, ok." So we start playing the fight song, and the other two drum majors are running around like, "No!! Face the stadium!! The stadium!!" Of course, nobody heard them. So they're all glaring at Jerry, and he just keeps conducting.I was standing right up front (because I'm all short like that), and all of a sudden I realized that there were a bunch of people walking past me. I looked, and all the trombone players had gone up and surrounded the podium while Jerry was still conducting. They all had their horns pointed up at Jerry, and one of them even climbed up the podium to play right up in his face. I was laughing so hard, I could not finish the fight song. :p
And that is my funny marching band story for today. :D
Until next time,
