i had got some new orcs the other day for my Warhammer Fantasy Orcs and gobbos army, and was anticipating the games tonight so i could try out my new orc unit. i also intended to have a nice decently paced battle, i was going for a fun night playing all my night goblins in one huge unit, I've got 10 of them. So i ended up some how playing 2 on 2. i finished my army list quickly, and had to wait an hour and a half minimum for the other players to decide upon their army lists, after that, it took ages for them to deploy, 2 of the players going out for a smoke break during what should have taken only 5 mins. *sigh* then we played 1 and a half turns before i finally broke and quit. They had been nit-picking the placement, angles and targets to make it more beneficial to themselves. so, i ended up picking up and dumping my army back into it's bin. We've got two players who commonly fight and argue over rules, they barely know the game, and they weren't in today, so i thought "hey, i might enjoy myself tonight. alas but no.

One of the guys who plays 40k was there, he had come and gone while my teammate and enemies were making their army lists up, he gave me a few bits for my Space Marine army that he had extra of, and a disc of the different army codexes. So that was the highlight of my day. i'm tweaking some of my units of Marines so i'll be more efficient in battle. ie, giving better weapons to them, reforming their units.... that's about it really, better weapons, and reforming the units. i've made a Devestator Squad and a quartet of Tactical Squads of 10 men each, as opposed to 6 tactical squads of 8 men each.

Re: Nitpickers
i haven't played Blood Bowl yet, but then again the few who do have blood bowl teams don't play them at the store where the rest of us play the other Warhammers. (ie Fantasy or 40k)

Re: Nitpickers:
we have a group of people that play at a house everyweek.

I dont think I've ever played either in a store. Although the Comic Book Shoppe in Ottawa has a location and they was a Wizzards Tower in Uottawa Campus. But alas that is closed up and gone.

Also, HERO is complicated. I think the whole 1000 page book on character development is just a little much. I'll stick to D&D and the occassional magic game thanks.

never played HERO, i'm a 3.5 D&D'er. i haven't been playing magic much recently but i've been playing more after a brief Magic-hiatus.
