pfft I Grew up on 80s christian Rock
However degarmo and key were never my favorites (To low key..heh.) I do love casual christian though, and I know they helped produce many of the groups I liked and still like.
Do you know steve taylor?

I know 2 Steve Taylors, actually ... but the one your probably talking about ... I am familiar with a little. Remember the HORROR when Stryper came out??? lol I grew up on 60's and '70's Christian groundbreaking music ... Back when Petra was WILD, and Michael W. Smith still played backup to Amy Grant ... and Ralph Carmichael was breaking "sound barriers". Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill ...loved these guys ... still do!
Your a bit older then me
I Missed the 70s since I was like..5 in 1980. As for stryper? never really cared for their music to much (Dug the solo albums by the lead singer in the 90s though.) I like Petra with john schlitt better then I do with Greg Volz; Guardian is one of my fave christian rock bands. DC Talk's JESUS FREAK Is the most ground breaking Christian album (shoot musical album) ever in my opinion...an album that showed both secular and christian rock people how to make music
(Listening to toby mac's Portable Sounds now
) Alot of the stuff by the people you mention just arn't my thing. I realize that what they did during the whole "jesus movement" help set the ground for what is going on today; but I also wish that the classification of Christian Rock never happened. HOWEVER I am starting to hear more and more christian rock artists on secular radio, so I think that is cool. Groups like the David Crowder Band aren't played on Secular stations to much, but they are some of the top selling artists in the country..go figure.
I like alot of different styles of music
