Another classic Christian Rock song..for those of you going through lonely and rough times, God is still there.

Dm Bb F C
-----1-----1-----1-----0-----
-----3-----3-----1-----1-----
-----2-----3-----2-----0-----
-----0-----3-----3-----2-----
-----------1-----3-----3-----
-----------------1-----------

[Intro]
Dm Bb F C (repeat)

Dm Bb
lost in a windswept land

F C
in a world of shifting sand

Dm Bb F C
a fragile flower stands apart

Dm Bb
and there in that barren ground

F C
you feel like you're the only one

Dm Bb F C
trying to serve Him with all your heart

Dm Bb F C
and you wonder, wonder can you last much longer

Dm Bb
this cloud you are under

F C
will it cover you

[Chorus]

Dm Bb
desert rose, desert rose

F C
don't you worry, don't be lonely

Dm Bb
heaven knows, heaven knows

F C
in a dry and weary land

Bb
a flower grows

F C Bb
His desert rose

Dm Bb F C
desert rose

Dm Bb
sometimes holiness

F C
can seem like emptiness

Dm Bb F C
when you feel the whole world's laughing eyes

Dm Bb
but if it's a lonely day

F C
know you're on the Father's way

Dm Bb F C
He will hear you when you cry

Dm Bb
and He will hold you, hold you

F C
your Father will hold you

Dm Bb
He will love you, love you

F C
for the things you do

[Repeat chorus]

pfft I Grew up on 80s christian Rock   However degarmo and key were never my favorites (To low key..heh.) I do love casual christian though, and I know they helped produce many of the groups I liked and still like.

Do you know steve taylor?

I know 2 Steve Taylors, actually ... but the one your probably talking about ... I am familiar with a little.  Remember the HORROR when Stryper came out???  lol  I grew up on 60's and '70's Christian groundbreaking music ... Back when Petra was WILD, and Michael W. Smith still played backup to Amy Grant ... and Ralph Carmichael was breaking "sound barriers".  Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill ...loved these guys ... still do!

Re: Spiritural song of the day part deux: Desert Rose by Whiteheart
Your a bit older then me I Missed the 70s since I was like..5 in 1980.  As for stryper? never really cared for their music to much (Dug the solo albums by the lead singer in the 90s though.)   I like Petra with john schlitt better then I do with Greg Volz; Guardian is one of my fave christian rock bands.  DC Talk's JESUS FREAK Is the most ground breaking Christian album (shoot musical album) ever in my opinion...an album that showed both secular and christian rock people how to make music (Listening to toby mac's Portable Sounds now )  Alot of the stuff by the people you mention just arn't my thing. I realize that what they did during the whole "jesus movement" help set the ground for what is going on today; but I also wish that the classification of Christian Rock never happened.  HOWEVER I am starting to hear more and more christian rock artists on secular radio, so I think that is cool.  Groups like the David Crowder Band aren't played on Secular stations to much, but they are some of the top selling artists in the country..go figure.

I like alot of different styles of music
