I don't know, it seems that if they would want to do a ratings boost, they would ignore Scrubs, since this is (as far as I've heard) the last season. Why would they sacrifice another possible money-maker to boost the last few episodes?
ABC bought the rights to make another season, I think. And NBC bought the rights to make a season after that.
I remember when there was some big conflict because Boy Meets World got changed to a later time, and it lost a lot of viewers. Maybe they're just trying to appeal to a different age group?
It may have to do with the fact that 30 rock is doing really well, and so they're moving it into the later time spot to better compete with Lost. (The 9-10 thursday night show on ABC).
Also, it could be that 30 Rock needs to be later for more "mature" audiences.
Or, you could be totally right.

"30 Rock" has been doing really well...and "Scrubs" not so much. That's why they're switching it. There's been a lot of squabbling between Zach Braff and the network about the show...I'm pretty sure its ratings dropped off after it came back from hiatus and the fact that it's supposed to have had its last season at least twice now is causing viewers to drop like flies.
That's interesting! I didn't know that Braff and the network had been having trouble. I guess it makes sense, with all that stuff about them maybe doing another season on ABC, but I had never thought about it.
I'm also surprised to hear that 30 Rock has been doing well as far as ratings go. I watched it last night, and found it to be intelligently written, well-cast, and actually really funny. So I assumed it was on the way out.

I think that "30 Rock" is actually surprisingly doing well, even though it's well written, critically acclaimed, and a good show, etc...it's gotten a lot of buzz via magazines and the Emmys and blah blah blah...
"Scrubs," on the other hand, has sort of jumped the shark in popular opinion, as far as I can gather from gossip blogs and whatnot.

Yeah, most shows that reach that seven-season mark usually 'jump the shark' at some point. Obviously, I still enjoy it, but it's definitely on the way out.
