But! The googlebot has been very active lately.

Ban the google bot.  He started coming to my page the first few times and I just banned them.  I have no clue what your talkign about wtih the page ranking though.

I also don't know what you mean by page rank but I just blogged about the google bot making the rounds to my blog almost daily and to many others as well.  I blocked it and it hasn't been back for a couple of days now.

there are forums everywhere talking about it. many people lost PR that didnt even deal in link ads.

Isn't it funny how the bloggers lost their page rank, but the companies that paid them for the links or reviews still have theirs?  Hhhmmm, makes you think???????

all of them took a hit. every single one. only one has pr and it's a 1.

So, I guess it's a matter of time before I lose all my pr too.  I just lost Getting Out of Debt's pr this week.  My mindsay lost it first, followed by Snow White, 7 Dwarves and PDD.  My bloggerparty lost it too.  Geez, at least some of the big bloggers lost 1 number or two and they make millions.  We make a whole lot less than that and they put me back to a ZERO!  Problogger got his pr back after like a week.  It's been weeks for me.  Email me.  I want to talk to you about some strategies.  If it's easier for you we can talk through im....
