Well, I watched it. The "Knight Rider" movie event on NBC, that is.

Was it cheesy? Hell, yeah. But there were moments where socKs and I laughed out loud. And where we thought the car was neat. True -- it would have been cooler if voiced by Will Arnett, but Val Kilmer did a satisfactory job filling in.

And yes -- there is a special appearance by David Hasselhoff in the two hour movie event. Sadly, he appeared only as Michael Knight -- not, as I had hoped for, as the evil Garth Knight. What I did find ironic was that Michael Knight and Mike Traceur, apparently father and son, look a bit alike. This, however, should not have been the case, as Michael Knight's true face died in the first episode of the original series when his appearance was altered through reconstructive surgery.

The final scene gave me something unexpected. Bravo for that...

Would I watch this as a series? Yes. Even if it gets really dumb. I'm still a sucker for a talking, wise-ass car.

As I mentioned to socKs -- if every episode has Sydney Poitier's character taking off her shirt and revealing a bikini top, I'll tune in every week.

I could just barely tolerate her acting. It seems a bit better when she doesn't have a lot of dialoge like she did in Grindhouse: Death Proof. She set my teeth on edge.

Shiny failed to mention that we were also impressed that she had a one night stand - with another WOMAN! That whole exposition to introduce her character was pointless.

I respectfully disagree.

But I will concede that it would have made a lot more sense if they showed those two kissing.

I recorded it, but I didn't really watch more than a few seconds of it... enough to hear the car. Val Kilmer did a surprisingly good job as a car. He really is a master of disguise.

You know more about Knight Rider than I thought existed. I just remember Hasselhoff talking to his car a lot, and it would talk back and save his incompetent ass all the time. I was young....
