This is ridiculous.

Seriously.

I didn't actually see this version on TV, I saw another one where he discusses the "Paus-ay" button.

Have they ever done this with a President before?

You're right, Sarah! "I mean, you can dislike Bush, but you should at least have respect for our President!" Right?

Re:
SNL has always made fun of presidents.
Also, I remember as a kid Ross Perot (granted, not a president, but at least a candidate) was a big character on All That.
I think they just do it so much more to Bush because, well... it's easy.

Re:
I don't think there's anything wrong with Presidential satire, and I'm well aware of all the variety/sketch shows that make fun of presidents...

...but this is a real commercial. Do they really think that having that character talk about dvr is really gonna make me want to buy dish dvr?

Re:
Oh, I didn't actually watch the commercial since I don't have audio, but I've seen a few of them.
I think it's just an easy way to make people laugh and remember their product... or something.

Re:
Yeah, maybe that's it...the laughter.

Re:
Are you upset that the President has orchestrated his career in order to be the most widely recognized idiot in the 21st century?

There's nothing you can do about it.

Re:
Yeah, that is weird.

But my brother reenacts this commercial almost every day.
