If you keep stumbling over something, do you pick it up to look at it?  Kick it aside? Continue to ignore it and thus keep stumbling?  Examine it from your vaunted height to gain perspective?

How do you approach something like that?

All of those (simultaneously!) I tend to stumble about a thousand times before I even realize there is something in my way... But I would vote for the examine/perspective option!

I like to examine things,  too.  I mean, why am I continually hitting this thing, right?  What is it that is happening? Why is it there? Etc.

squat down low to get a good look at the thing over which I am stumbling, and depending on that "thing" I may stand back up to get a different perspective on how to move it, move myself around it, or bring it with me.

The multi-tasking response!   I agree that they all have a place in what will probably be the "right" thing to do.

I keep kicking it aside for a bit... (the procrastinator in me)... but eventually get around to gaining a perspective.... but you know, I stumble and roll ... oh well, that's my spots... or is that stripes??  Nice blog.. by the way...

I am queen of the procrastinator nation, so I do understand that utterly.

And thank you.   I try. lol

Lemme guess...metaphors?
OK...well in general..if we are talking about ACTUAL tripping over an object, .....I will determine WHY I am tripping over it, where it came from. If it is something I need available, I will move it to an alternate location where I wont trip over it and kill myself constantly.....

My husband, on the other hand, instead of making a mental note that it is there, will continue to kick and trip himself on a daily basis, then kick said offending object....and swear at it...followed by yelling at me because of it's location....yes I am referring to an ACTUAL object! LOL...the babies bassinet in fact. It is in such a place that he keeps tripping over the wheel on the corner of it.  He now wants to remove the wheel and put BOOKS under it to keep it level....
I asked him if that idea is really practical...and what would keep him from tripping over the books then? lol...

<smile> Metaphors are a writer's favorite toy, sometimes!

LOL I can so see books used to level a bassinet... I had one, with each of the boys, but I don't know that I actually used it...  Here, my problem is the train table... Ouch!

Re: What do you do?
it is one of the pack n play ones with the changing table attached.....
Click ME

pack n play

It has storage space beneath it as well, and it is in our room. Otherwise, the baby woudl be on the opposite corner of the house completely. SO....it serves its purpose...

OHHHHH that is SOOOOO adorable!!!!!! Way cuter than any of the ones we had. LOL

I'd keep it up just for eye candy.

Re: What do you do?
lol I like it for the usefullness, and then later it is the regular pack n play playpen....the zipper for the little opening has a latch/snap thingie so that they can't get it open from the inside. So it serves dual purpose, and with our SEVERELY limited space in here.....with the changing table built in, it is perfect!   hehe...
I was so thrilled when I saw it...

I had fun picking out stuff for us to splurge on for the baby....
lol...my sister apparently asked my mom if i bought everything new for this baby.
And mostly I did...however, a large portion of the things from my daughter were broken, missing pieces, or looked like crap. lol they ARE 7 years old now...OY!...Not to mention unlike her and her husband, I passed EVERYTHING I got for my little one onto HER and our OTHER sister who had one a year and a half after mine.  So my stuff got pretty beat up.  LOL and also we like to actually LEAVE the house with our monster...so the stroller we had got LOTS and LOTS of use, and was hauled in and out of my trunk quite often.....got left out in the rain and sun....and basically was beat to all hell and beyond.
AND...my sister is currently using my car seat for HER Little one........and I didnt see her rushing out to buy a new one when I said that I was pregnant......SO....we bought the stroller travel system. Which turned out to be like $20 more than the ones without the carseat....and this way I know it all fits together...

At any rate...I am done rambling now. I must needs locate my grubby child and throw her into the tub for bath time at the zoo.....lol...

Re: What do you do?
If it's something of a physical nature I'll either kick it to the side or put it back where it's supposed to be. If it's something of a more profound, spiritual, or emotional nature I may deal with it, I may ignore it for a couple weeks hoping it just goes away. It all depends I suppose.

Ignoring it can work.  <smile> Sometimes!

Sometimes. Not often, but sometimes. And ignoring something until it goes away only works in a healthy way if it's something like a cold sore. Everything else requires effort dagnabbit.
