Pew Research Poll, with a handy dandy graphic.

So this is the overall sample.

Now let's see how informed and balanced the Fox Viewers are...

Now, this is a perception survey. What would a study require to be ideological? Why, a panel of trained coders (usually 2 or 3) that would rate ideological bias in a random sample of stories/covereage from each of the networks... which still comes down to perception, but trained perception.

Re: Mirror Mirror on the wall... Who is the most Ideological of all?
i don't get it.  what does any of this mean?

Fox viewers think Fox is much more conservative than anything else
CNN viewers think CNN is much more liberal than anything else
MSNBC viewers think MSNBC is much more liberal
And the nightly news folks think is it neither liberal though it leans more left than right (by an average of 2 to 1)

this is as unscientific as it gets.

Toot... what about this polling do you not understand?

And what does science have to do with polling? There is no control or treatment with polling, ever (which is integral to the scientific method). The theory of statistics is however, on firm mathematical ground with nearly a century to back up its use as a methodology.

Read Fox's conservative perception among all viewers.

Then look at the difference between the networks and the bolded selections in the poll. Normally, people who self select in will read more ideology in their chosen network than others will. Not the case in Fox. Those conservative perceptions run across the entire board.

Well maybe they are just proud to be conservatives!
They don't think of it as a negative.
I don't.

the other people who think of themselves as independents, just might be, or might consider what they are to be independent.  I know people who think the NY Times is pretty independent.
seriously!

Fox, I would say is more conservative than the rest.  That's obvious.
But it's not all conservative.
Certianly their straight news folks aren't ideological.

Beck, Hannity obviously are very conservative.
I'd even say that Hannity is too Republican for my taste.  He used to be fair but now he is totally one sided.  I rarely watch him.

O'Reilly is actually not very conservative.  He is pretty fair to both sides.  Many conservatives do not like him.

ABC is much more liberal than they think they are.  Charlie Gibson, Diane Sawyer?  Liberals.
Katie Couric, Bob Schaeffer...Liberals
Brian Williams?  Wants to make out with Obama.
