To properly combat an ideology, you must first understand it.
You must be able to put yourself in the proponent's shoes, and see why they think what they do.
I think few people really genuinely do this. Instead, they use blanket terms like 'racist', 'fear, 'communist' and 'hippy' to explain what they refuse to comprehend.
