The Kansas City Royals took out the Detroit Tigers 3-1 in a game that was nearly postponed due to some very cold weather. Jorge De La Rosa gave up 1 run in 7 innings to get the victory. David Riske pitched the ninth inning to earn his first save of the season. Mark Grudzielanek drove in a run in the first inning. Tony Pena Jr. drove in a run in the seventh inning with his third triple of the season. David DeJesus drove in Pena later in the inning.
