KU falls to Oklahoma State 49-38 in the NCAA Tournament. Coach Allen's squad finished 19-2 and were Big 6 Conference Champs.

 

3/18/1953:

KU loses the NCAA Championship by one point to Indiana. The score was 69-68 in Kansas City. KU finished 19-6 and were Big 7 Conference Champs.

 

3/18/1967:

KU beats Louisville 70-68 in the NCAA Tournament. KU finished 23-4 and were Big 8 Conference Champs.

 

3/18/1968:

KU beats Villanova 55-49 in the NIT.

 

3/18/1971:

KU beats Houston 78-77 in the NCAA Tournament.

 

3/18/1984:

KU falls to Wake Forest 69-59 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Larry Brown's team inished 22-10.

 

3/18/1988:

KU beats Xavier 85-72 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Danny Manning had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Milt Newton had 21 points and 12 boards. Chris Piper had 9 points, 9 boards and 7 assists.

 

3/18/1990:

KU falls to UCLA 71-70 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Coach Roy Williams led the team to a final record of 30-5. 

 

3/18/1993:

KU bashes Ball State 94-72 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

 

3/18/1995:

#5 KU beats #21 Western Kentucky 75-70 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Sean Pearson scored 17. Jerod Haase scored 14. Scot Pollard had 12 points and 11 boards. Jacque Vaughn had 10 points and 9 assists.

 

3/18/2001:

#12 KU beats #16 Syracuse 87-58 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. KU is 26-6. Drew Gooden had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Jeff Boschee scored 16. Kenny Gregory had 15 points and 9 boards. Eric Chenowith scored 12. Kirk Hinrich had 10 points and 6 assists. Nick Collison had 9 points and 13 boards.

 

3/18/2005:

#12 KU falls to Bucknell 64-63 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Wayne Simien had 24 points and 10 boards in his final game for Kansas. KU finished the season 23-7 and were Co-Champs of the Big 12. 

 

3/18/2007:

#2 KU defeats Kentucky 88-76 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. KU is 32-4. Julian Wright had 21 points and 8 rebounds. Brandon Rush scored 19. Mario Chalmers had 16 points and 8 assists.
