This was an ugly game. It seemed as though neither team wanted to win. There was really no offense to speak of. The Chiefs kicked two field goals in the first half to grab a 6-0 halftime lead. In the third quarter, KC was in position to expand their lead after a 54-yard run by Larry Johnson. However, Dave Rayner couldn't connect and the Raiders finally did something on offense.

Daunte Culpepper used some long passes to lead Oakland down the field. He hit Ronald Curry in the end zone to give the Raiders a 7-6 lead. The Chiefs were able to strike back on their next drive. Damon Huard connected with Dwayne Bowe for a 58-yard gain. A few plays later Johnson punched it in for the score. the two-point conversion failed. So, the Chiefs had a 12-7 lead with 11:30 left in the game. The Raiders were able to add a field goal to get within 12-10. KC could do almost nothing with their next possession and had to punt it back to the Raiders.

On a 2nd and 7 with :46 left, Jarrad Page picked off a Culpepper pass to seal the win 12-10. The Chiefs have beaten the Raiders 9 straight times. The Chiefs are 4-3 on the year and are currently in first place.

Larry Johnson had 112 yards rushing with a TD. Jared Allen led the defense with 8 tackles and 2 sacks.

KC has a bye next week and then they will host the Green Bay Packers.
