Depends on what you mean by accepted.  Accepted like Chocolate cake? Or accepted as in, there shouldn't be any stigma regarding self harm?

 

Well I just read your tags, i'm guessing your thinking, accepted like chocolate cake, and my answer would be, ummm that's not only radical, but that's insane.

Of course I don't mean like chocolate cake, but it wouldn't hurt to see it practiced in the public eye. Socially acceptable, to me, would be at the level that people accept homosexuality. Most accept it, some encourage it's prevalence in society, and others despise it, but regardless of opinion, the law and medicine can't bar it.

And why would that be insane if I did mean like chocolate cake?

Insane, because these are life threatening issues.(self injury, anorexia, bulemia,) Homosexuality is NOT. I think those are two different issues, totally. Other then the the judgment people recieve.

Allowing such disorders to become socially acceptable will make way for true scientific study of them, and will result in better treatment for such things. The same theory applies to controlled substances. I don't believe that's insane.

Nope. I think if a person is determined to harm themselves, or commit suicide, they should just do it, and save the overburdened psychiatric professionals and tax payers some work and money.
But, I still think anyone under the age of 18 has no clear idea about life and should be stopped.

Those under 18 cannot be declared to have the fully developed mentality of an adult, which is why murders committed allegedly by minors cannot be given the same trial and sentence an adult would receive. Minors should never be tried as adults in the courts.

And.. I think our 15 Billion a month foreign policy could be spent better on science, rather than killing our neighbors.
