My parents are pretty well off, living on a half million dollar property, and after graduating high school they assured me they would assist me financially. After my first semester of college, they decided to go back on their word, and I had to miss an entire semester before getting back into class by myself. I worked and got the money to come back, and got back into classes this semester, as well as getting an apartment with my partner.

Today was a noticable example of why I need to completely separate myself from my family. I just ran out of money from my paycheck, and we needed 40 dollars to close the paperwork with the realtor, and I had to beg my once-generous parents for that much on LOAN. Even when you pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, you can't get a hand in even the simplest things.

Well, this blogger is proud of you! I am a little confused though... an apartment with your partner, so you needed a realtor..? Do you mean a leasing agent?

I think your parents will come around. Why did they simply go back on their word to lend some help? No one just does that on a whim, you know? Did you upset them?
