you know what they say about those times when you have nothing to say..hahah. onward..
saturday's game was..okay. got there plenty early (unlike last time); tried to meet up with tony but no dice. jessica bailed and gave MA her ticket, so we were good to go there, though. shortly after sitting down, i notice that hayley and colin take a seat three rows up from us or so..so i'm talking to kato and whatever, trying to get ready (mentally) for this game against #17 tcu..and then, extraordinarily coincidentally, caitlin's mother, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, and other aunt? and then brother, happened to show up about forty five minute before the game started, and sit—where else?—but DIRECTLY behind the three of us. then, as the stadium finally starts to fill up, dan m. comes and takes a seat with us, though on the bleacher row below, which was cool. tcu then proceeds to come within a minuscule distance of shutting us out (by thirty points) before they basically send in their second string, and we rattle off a 56-yard pass for a touchdown, get the two-point conversion (apparently our first successful one in six years), and get another touchdown, with a noble 50+ yard pass attempt as the clock ran out, for a final score of 30-14, which looks a lot better than 30-0, which would've been rather close to how much we lost to duke by, last year..
the remainder of the weekend consisted of not going to an axe party on friday that i was invited to, and a pep band party i was also invited to, despite the fact that one of kato's better friends/old gym buddies who was/is (?) the student director is now dating my most recent ex, her being unaware of his connection with my best friend, and him being unaware of my connection with her, which hopefully will prove to be rather amusing when it finally surfaces. kato and i instead stayed in and watched some naruto (one being a double episode that completes a lot of kakashi's backstory) on MA's laptop hooked up to the hdtv, since she conked out early and kato didn't want to be my wingman. my life is so incredibly exciting, i know!
got lost on the way to meeting up at the seven corners b&n (thanks, google maps!), monday evening after work, with these two girls i found on cl who were subletting a room in their house. both were from upstate new york and had known each other forever, and had come down to nova to find teaching jobs..we hit it off pretty quickly, and wound up chatting for over an hour. they said they were meeting with one more girl tuesday, and should have a decision over the weekend sometime..i'm actually surprisingly finding myself kind of looking forward to the prospect of living in a house again instead of aptment (or this townhouse i'm at now), with people my age who actually speak my language (asians and indians just don't quite do it for me), and share more common interests than i'd've expected. downsides are the cost ($650/month+$50-$100 utils/internet, $650 deposit, 1-year lease), but i try to compare that to kato's $630/month+utils for his single aptment to make myself feel better. besides, it's a little closer to work (~3mi i think), and i'm always up for making some new good friends.
work's goin' well; pretty much done with this first iteration of the project i've been working on, just bug-hunting now and creating more problems for myself, hahah. uva's got an away game this weekend (southern miss, coincidentally also the first time they've ever traveled to mississipi), which there'll definitely be no band going to, so i'm headed back down to fredericksburg. the lady who owns the townhouse left for australia today and won't be back until around the end of the month, so i've got her parking spot until then, which is really nice. the guy housemate's mother came down monday or so though, and i only met her today when she came to answer the door, thinking i was him. anyhow, MA's headed home for the weekend also, to celebrate her grandmother's birthday, so i told kato he could come to fredericksburg if he wanted, and hang out with me and kenny, maybe go watch 9 or something. likely headed down to richmond saturday afternoon though, to bring my tv back up and collect some overdue utils from rob.
