Hola everyone!

Apparently if you don't use Mindsay for a while they shut down your account. An explanation for all of my friends here...

Right now I am typing rather limply with an arm that is in a cast sitting in my wheelchair since I also have my right leg in a cast. On December 27th I fell off of an "edifice" rock by Neah Bay, Washington in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I fell approximately twenty to thirty feet and as a result ended up with multiple compound fractures to my right arm and right leg, as well as a fractured facial and sinus bones. I got to spend an hour on the ground as the medics worked on me and lifted me out with a cage. They took me to Neah Bay hospital which is more like a clinic and after spending an hour there the Coast Guard came and picked me up in a helicopter and transported me to Harborview Hospital in Seattle. The first night there they repaired my leg and splinted it and after 5 days they fixed my right arm and splinted it. I stayed in Harborview for 7 days before they released me to go home. After two weeks I returned to the hospital and they x-rayed my right arm and placed it in a cast and since my right leg was taking it's time healing it waited another week before they put a cast on that.

What a way to start out the New Year! LOL! I will be going back to the hospital on Feb. 27th and hopefully thy will remove the hard casts and put me in a removable boot and aircast for my arm. Then I will start physical therapy. Hopefully I will be back to work the first week of April. So that's where I have been. I hope all of you had great holidays and that your New Year has started off better than mine!

Re: I am Back
It's amazing your injuries weren't worse.  I'm glad you are okay but it sounds like you have alot of physical therapy ahead of you. I have much empathy for anyone who has to undergo any kind of PT just from my experience with my finger.   Best wishes for a speedy recovery for you.

Your other account still appears to be active as far as I could tell.  I just went there.

God is really looking out for me. Apparently He has more for my plate! Thanks. I wonder if they reactivated it? My account...oh well. I plan on using this one...new beginnings!

Guardian angels are among us for sure.

I don't know why they would deactivate it.  I have alot of blogs on my network that have not had any activity but are still active.  Oh well, like you said, new beginnings.

Yikes, and happy new year to you, from Juan de Fuca, eh?  Good grief.

Physical therapists are at least partly sadists so please gird your loins in preparation. <smile>

Thank goodness you lived to tell the tale!

Like Tess and Sandi have already said, physical therapy is grueling and pretty horrible in general.  Been there, done that too many times to count.  But the harder you work at it, the better your results.

Please keep us posted on your progress.
