The snow is expected to start overnight tonight, as much as 10- 15 cm of snow & ice pellets (4-6") and then 10-15 mm of rain (freezing rain) after that and then more rain and high winds to follow. Could get ugly! I've got my wood stove outside for cooking or the camping stove, if we need it. We'll hope it doesn't get too serious. I didn't get called to shovel snow this time - darn - but maybe they're figuring it's better to wait and see how many people they even need. Apparently the biggest worry with the weather network is power lines going down due to ice accretion and in particular with the heavy winds expected.
The freezing rain isn't likely to hurt much in the garden - everything has a good cover and the odd branch can always be trimmed back if it should break from the ice. John will have a challenge getting home from work, apparently getting there won't be too tough. Glad we've got Blizzaks on the car - what a difference it makes!
I'll give the statistical rundown in the morning and hope I manage a good photograph or two to go with it!
Until then!
