COMPILED GENIUS

Following a lifetime of searching I have finally found the compiled works of the wise master which answers all the questions of life and the world. Here they are for you to bask in their delightful simplicity.

Be forewarned: This is mind-altering, earth-shaking and sacred subject matter. Your life will never be the same following a thorough reading.

Bloody hell wanker!

How I long for the good old days. I refer to the days when most people didn't know how to read or write. In those days the educated were the only ones privy to knowledge. The plebians had no right to it, or use for it. That was a good thing. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Now here we are today. Most everyone knows how to read and write. Ask anyone you know if they know how to read and write. They will certainly answer "yes". Then ask the follow-up question: "What do you read and write?" There's the rub. That's the thing that makes me pine for long ago.

With all the "sharing of information" and "knowledge" this tool called the internet professes to provide, where are the fruits of it? I challenge anyone reading this to point me to three links out of the hundreds of millions which illustrate some fruit of the internet.

It's a "you reap what you sow" digital miasma. Consider the top-ten Google searches for this week:

1.  antonella barba
2.  american idol
3.  oscars
4.  helen mirren
5.  jennifer hudson
6.  giant squid
7.  al gore
8.  national weather service
9.  babel
10. Leelee Sobieski

Now there's a knowledge base for you! Oh, I'm sorry... you're not reading anymore are you? No, you're too busy watching the idiot box or investigating the depths of American Idol. Meanwhile students in India and China graduate high-school fluent in at least three spoken  languages, three computer languages and Calculus. Can you spell s t u p i d i t y?

And it all boils down to the tragic mistake of perpetuating the myth that everyone deserves the right to read and write. Poppycock! If it's so damn benificial, then why is the educational system broken? HELLO! Giant Squids and Leelee Sobieski.

Why is everyone so preoccupied with regurgitating the same subject matter over and over? I ask that of all you educated "readers" and "writers" out there.

I dunno- I'm not all that sanguine about it.
