A

few days after the first televised Presidential candidate debates (sic) a couple paragraphs of disdain appeared here. I was disappointed at the networks and with Youtube's policy of forbidding any posting of the debates there. Well good news! The Tube has partnered with CNN to create something they are calling CitizenTube.
Here is how they describe it:

This summer and fall, YouTube, CNN and a few engaged and engaging citizens will make political history by having the presidential candidates answer questions submitted via YouTube videos.

The first debate will feature the Democratic candidates on July 23rd in Charleston, South Carolina. Submit your question for the Democrats between June 14 and July 22 (the earlier the better). The CNN political team will choose the most creative and compelling videos, and if yours is one of them, you may get the chance to fly to Charleston to watch the debate live and offer your reactions afterward on YouTube's political video blog, Citizentube.
So if you've always wanted your voice to be heard, now's your chance -- grab a camera and get rolling.

hile this experiment is prone to being overwhelmed and editorialized, I think it is something any geek-politico will want to participate in.

OK, Pablo

Re: CitizenTube
I think CitizenTube is a great idea. With that said, could this also be something that causes major problems? For example, how much of it will be 'edited' to fit the needs of those answering the questions? You know the drill. Will it really benefit the 'Average Joe or Joan'?  Thanks for posting this info!

Re: CitizenTube
It's what I would call another "youth-voter-venue". The difference here may be that it raises the bar for more intelligent discourse brought about through the editorial process, which, of course, is always prone to network agenda and policy.
re: Average J and J
They're probably so hopelessly average and apathetic, they won't mind anyway.
