ATTENTION MINDSAY FORUM MODERATORS:

I'm sorry, the Irish in me compells me to sound off on this following several days of moderation on the subject. I have avoided using their names, but now I'm done pulling punches because things are out of control over at the Mindsay Forums. I have sent several polite inquiries to SaikotikGunman and forum moderators. Originally SaikotikGunman agreed, but faced with the encouragement of his recalcitrant fans and groupies he did an about face. Amazingly, SaikotikGunman believes that his being omnipresent in the forums is a magnet to attract people!

SaikotikGunman

This guy says "So what if I have over 700 posts." (The latest count is 760 forum posts.) It doesn't matter where you visit in the Mindsay Forums, you're going to see a one-liner from this guy. Out of the total forum-user posts, he has made 24% of them! Apparently, he is an invaluable, opinionated expert on everything, for why else would the forum moderators allow this kind of behavior?

And here you see his partner in crime. Between the two of them jabbering away, they have consumed over a third of the forum.

ATTENTION MINDSAY FORUM MODERATORS:

The forum is being single-handedly ruined by this users behavior. Your inaction has and is driving away most people who go to the forums to use them in a productive manner. Take an open poll of Mindsay users and discover for yourself what people think. In the meantime, you allowing this sort of rampant, hyperactive, roaming user activity is undermining the usefulness and potential of the forums as a whole.

Readers: Visit the forums for yourself and see what's going on. Where is the Mindsay "community" on this one?

From Demongunslinger:

Looking through different threads, I can see how some people would stray a little from the main topic. And for me, maybe one or two replies straying farther than the main topic isn't too bad. But when most topics are drowned out because of (at the moment) 2 Mindsayers: SaikotikGunman & ch4ntillyl4ce, it would make most people unwilling to post anything. Why should they make a reply or post a topic if there's a likely probability that it will be overwhelmed between short, often unrelated postings by these two? Yes, as I said, there's no harm in straying a little from the topic but there's a difference between straying and overshadowing.

To make it worse, the moderators themselves don't seem to be doing their jobs, stepping in to ask people to either take it into a private message or to an appropriate thread. Instead, by not curbing it, it's pretty much allowed them to do as they please seeing as there's no punishment to such rampant posting. If a moderator were to go through the threads and delete every non-related reply, you'd see a drastic reduction in the number of postings made by them; seeing as how a lot of the comments have been made to each other, whether in an attempt to make a mockery of people who oppose this (like the poster of this topic) or just to feed whatever need they have to be number 1.

It's called Spamming. Usually there is a spam section where people like this can spray the spam to their heart's content. As a former Mod on such a forum, I can tell you that such a section is a forum's only protection against the urge to splurge.

Re: ATTN: MINDSAY FORUM MODERATORS
I almost feel I should vote 700 and some times for this post.

This guy has taken over the forums.

I have seen some of the moderators like underground1986 try to get him to tone it down but he loves the sound of his own voice.

Re: ATTN: MINDSAY FORUM MODERATORS
Us like-minded individuals are referred to as "the select few" by the Gunman. It is nothing less that a stark example of obsessive/compulsive disorder. He can't really help himself thinking that his input is valued and needed in every single thread. And he is not about to change his behavior for anyone, including moderators. Unfortunately, the only solution may be to block his IP!   That would be drastic, but there is not forum feature to filter him out.

If they want to save the Forums they had better do that.
