Y'know, I remember using a 2400bps modem to do AOL (at $2.99 an hour), so dial-up isn't that freaking slow.
(Ok, yeah, that was longer ago than some Mindsayers have been alive. Even so.)
maybe but I am used to faster & I bet you were not then. You got better when it came out ,unlike my mother who stuck with AOL.
I've heard of people who were onlining back in the early '80s at like 64k, but I never did that.
Oddly enough, Ex-Wife#1 went back to AOL for some reason--I think she trolls for 18-year-old boys on it or something.
