In defense of misterskank, non believers protest vehemently because Christians try to rule the world not just their own lives.
They try to infiltrate the government and do away with part of the constitution (separation of Church and state), and they wish to deny human rights to certain individuals. They speak words of the love of Jesus from one side of their mouth and spew hate from the other. They knock on your doors and tell you that their loving god will roast you in hell for eternity if you don't conform to their ways. The scare little children with talk of gods wrath.
They invade countries and shove their propaganda down the throats of starving people who must endure their relentless preaching if they hope to receive food or assistance. They feed  the overwhelming superstition of third war peoples by leading them to believe their plight and starvation is due to the belief in false gods. They control by religious fear tactics not by truth. The list goes on and on and on..
Someone has to expose this religion of hatred for what it is. I applaud misterskank and others for standing up to this and calling it like it is.. rubbish.

See I just don't understand that... EVEN if the woman is thinking it, why the need to say it? It's rediculous!

I don't have a problem with people posting their beliefs WHATEVER they are. I have a problem with people posting things just to stir up arguments. Drama queens and kings I guess they are.

Re: Thou doth protest too much?
Ok, sometimes I say stuff to stir up controversy...that's only being honest. I think both sides do that.
And in all honesty, I would be sad if featherdawn, chaps, godisamazing ,you or any other Christians left mindsay because I like my community groups to be like a garden, loaded with color, variety, some with thorns, some that are beautiful but stink, and some that smell sweet as honey!
I truly hope that some will see my posts and really examine their beliefs, just as I am sure they hope I will do the same.
It's all about dialog. That beautiful freedom we call "free speech!" We have fought so hard for it!
My main problem with Christians and other religious groups is this: they want to infringe upon the rights of others...I don't. They are free to be against abortion , they don't have to have one if they don't want to. But for the woman who finds herself in the sad position of needing one, I would never want to take her rights as a woman away from her. They don't have to marry gays, but that person who has found their true love and soul mate in someone of the same sex should have that right. And so on and so forth...
I came to misterskanks defence, not because he wasn't doing a famous job of defending himself , he's a master at that! Rather, I spoke up because I could see featherdawn was operating under a false assumtion.Misterskank is not looking for bible god. He has seen him and he doesn't like or believe what he sees.Misterskank really is a man of peace. he abhors war and violence. But he is a firm beliver in the power of the written and spoken word! But unfortunatly, bible god is not a bringer of peace but of blood, hate, and death.
The more we talk, argue, cuss and discuss  the more we will understand one another. It is through this personal knowledge that we hope we  will someday find the road to true  peace.
Thank you for your reply!

Re: Thou doth protest too much?
Thanks for the Honesty! I respect that alot! It definately is done on both sides, thats why I try to stay away from a certain group on here.  I do believe some Christians truly have good intentions. I remember when I first came to believe in God without a doubt, the peace I felt, I so badly wanted to just hand over to those I knew were hurting. But it can't always work that way. If people have made it known they really don't want to hear what you have to say, we have to respect that. Mr. Skanks, obviously knows what is in the Bible, and many of these people are very aware of where Mr Skanks stands. I wish it could just be a mutual respect. And if Christians wish to pray, they can do it without announcing it to him.  I believe God is ultimately the one who changes the hearts of those who don't believe. So why the heck would I go against what Jesus teaches, and attack another for their beliefs.    I knew nothing about what was said back and forth. Your post was the first I had read. I am not interested in keeping up on the battle. I just get confused about why it's so hard for some to just be respectful and get along with others.  I guess it's just best, for me to go on doing what I do, and not even be bothered with the confusion lol.

Re: Thou doth protest too much?
You know girl, I really respect your beliefs. And I know you think you have found a "peace" in Jesus and want to share it with those you believe are "hurting".
But in all honesty and sincerity, It was when I was a Christian that I hurt. I hurt deeply for those I thought would be consumed by everlasting torment. Some of those people were my own children and close friends.
I hurt when my prayers went unanswered and worried continually about pleasing God and 'rightly dividing the word. I worried rapture would come and I might not be ready and be left behind.
There was no peace.
Now I have peace and I no longer feel afraid or hurt. I really am happy! And I believe misterskank is also!
I really want you to enjoy your faith and I hope you will continue to post. If it gets a little rough it will be alright.
