Thank goodness for free speech! It is a freedom worth dying for. And here on "mind say" we practice that right everyday. Posts ranging from "dark and scary" to "sweet as sugar" we enjoy a wide range of topics. We have our favorite bloggers and those who annoy us.We search for titles under top blogs that interest us and avoid those we know are spam or that are of questionable content  according to our beliefs and sensitivities.
We have cranks , crack heads ,Christians ,and atheisists, undecideds, straight, gay, lesbians and transgender, young , old and inbetween, open minded , closed minded and no brainers, the list goes on and on.
With posted pictures and video we are not faceless nor voiceless but yet we still are strangers. Other than my daughter in law I would know none of you were I to meet you on the street..unless...you began to speak, to voice your opinions, to tell your stories. Then, some of you I would know. Because I am beginning to know you better everyday, by reading your words, by hearing your heart . By getting in touch with that faceless part of you...your mind.
Everyday you present a piece of yourself by bringing to the table a piece of you through your words.I may never know your face, but little by little I'm really beginning to know some of you intimately.
Some of you I like, some of you suck (LOLL) some of you are just to sugary  for my taste ( I like a little salt with my sugar)! But still I read you for "balance".
I know some of you better than my neighbors because through your blog I learn so much more about you. Most neighbors just say "Hi..how are you? Looks like a nice day! Bye!" But here , I learn you inner most thoughts, secrets, beliefs and stories. You share your house, your living room and sometimes your bedroom. It's so much easier to speak your heart through written word isn't it? I think most people are more "real" through their blogs. Although some of the "oh so sweet" or "ah so dark" people seem a bit "fake".
We're all wearing a bloggers mask here. We can be real, or we can be someone we choose to be and no one knows the truth...empowering isn't it.
As for me , I choose to be real. What I write is what I feel and who I am (that day...and that's always subject to change).

Re: Getting to know you on Mindsay:
When I was little, at grandma's, I prepared some wheetabix for my sister, but I mistook the sugar and salt!!! (reminded me of that with the sugar thing)
Also my grandma had a toothbrush that looked identical to the one she used for her dog... I... got 'em mixed up! lol

And yep indeedy - the wonder of people I guess!

Oh dear, I might be discovered! He he.

I have the same approach; I get no thrill from pretending to be something I'm not.

Of course, maybe I'm just saying that! What anyone says online can be a lie. Sometimes what seems fake is real, and what seems real is fake.

Very true! I try to be real to what I am feeling that moment in time. There have been times that I have gone back and deleted posts because I felt bad afterward...and times that I feel like re-posting something because I just can't YELL it loud enough.

Right on!

Re: Getting to know you on Mindsay
I say write what you feel! It's so awesome to be able to speak your mind.I would hate it if everybody agreed with me all the time. I find the controversy and difference of opinion totally exhilarating! Sometimes it's us against them or them against us  or it's all for one and one for all!LOLL! Like the proverbial box of chocolates!
I have my emissaries who keep me on my toes..like "chaps" and whats his name ..the ole Israel dude. And whats her name (can't think tonight..brain fart). We've been cussing and discussing abortion. I'm pro choice...she's pro life...we both are strong about our beliefs...marvelous!
Oh and misterskank...he's a righteous dude. Then theres you who help keep me straight when I push the wrong reply button (thanks)! So yell, or whisper...I'm listening!

I am not really right on for most of the things misterskank is on about, but I don't want to disrespect him because that would put me at his level.

But, thanks for listening.

Re: Getting to know you on Mindsay
Your welcome! And thanks for posting!
As for misterskank you really must read between the lines with him. I always read his posts and his comments slowly and carefully. There is so much more there than meets the eye!
I find his work exciting and thought provoking. He makes you really look inside yourself, to dig in your heels and stand strong or tuck your tail and run. His provocation isn't your normal goading. It is aimed at the deepest, inner most thoughts and beliefs and he challenges everyone, including his friends!
He is actually a man of peace which seems to be an oxy moron when you read his comments but his ultimate goal is obvious..just beneath the surface.I've learned  much about myself through our conversations.
Then there's "chaps". We stand at opposite sides of the street both shouting this is where you should live. Firm in our convictions , both knowing we will never cause the other to be moved.
Trying new people is like trying new foods. Some will taste horrible in your mouth and you will spit them out immediately. Others will taste strange, different  and new but you will find yourself desiring them and soon accustomed to your taste.  Some are like caffine...quite addicting. Some are like wine, to be savored and taken in moderation. Some are so sweet their disgusting and others are rich and filling!
I love people, all kinds of people.
Damn life is good!

I loved this blog. And I too, choose to be real.

It is quite empowering having the choice at your fingertips, however.

Words are so powerful it's freakin awesome isn't it? Just think how many wars have been started, marriages have been sealed and lives have been changed by the stroke of a pen!
Glad you enjoy the blog...come back and visit anytime. We'll sit down for a latte or call out for beer and pizza....what ever we imagine we want to do we can through the power of our words...brilliant!
