Tonight, I am making some meatballs and spaghetti. Perhaps have some garlic bread and some wine. Then Huzband and I'll watch a barrowed copy of "Phone Booth".I love having nothing planned.I'd like to open this particular commment section to people's thoughts on food... favorite recipes, great food combinations, quotes, etc.Ideally I'd like to have sections of this blog open for exchanging recipes or cooking ideas...

Oh that sounds yummy! And fun! Well I have no talent for cooking but I like to add chopped zucchini to my spaghetti sauce... And also oregano from my garden (somehow it's so much better than from the store!) Have a great evening

Ambrosia
Ambrosia is a delectable fruit salad my mum makes for major family get togethers.Recipe, to be prepared the night beforene whole pineapplean apple2 bananas2 or 3 tangerinessmall jar of maraschino cherrieskiwi if you're into kiwiwalnuts if you're into those. How many? Um. Some?RediWhip whipped cream. NutmegCut pineapple in half, lengthwise. Scoop out pineapple and set aside in a dish.Cut all the rest of the fruit (plus any extra that you like) into bite-size piecesAdd walnutsMix all the fruit pieces, including pineapple, together in a big metal bowl.Add the RediWhip. Enough to make a nice little salad, but not too much.Cover the pineapple halves and the metal bowl. Let sit overnight in your refrigerator.Just before serving, spoon out the ambrosia into the pineapple halves.Add more RediWhip if desired.Sprinkle with nutmeg.Serve. :-)

How about simple "recipes" for todays bachelors? Recipes that say, "Keep frozen til you put it in the microwave for 2 minutes" can get old after awhile. On a note of a personal find as to food combinations, try eating Kix for breakfast with honey poured on top. Cerealously, it's good."Half the evil, twice the fun.">>jake.rad

I love not having anything planned also! Never happens anymore with school and work, but I still love to do it!

Hmmm... I can't wait for the seaon of roadside stands with zucchini, strawberries, corn and melons. Either that or I'll need to grow some in my backyard. Good ideas. I forget about freshness sometimes... funny phrase, "forget about freshness", lol.
