Yeah- that was a sad turn of affairs.

I loved Whale Rider.  I learned a lot about a culture, enjoyed the story and did not feel like I was being preached to.

If you liked it I can suggest more New Zealand movies!! Um..Once were Warriors, Second Hand Bride...dangit I got the list at home cause I wanted to buy them.

 

I watched them on the flight home on Air New Zealand
