So here I am living with my parents, looking for a job, house and what's left of my sanity. Although to be perfectly honest I feel much better now that I'm in NY, it's almost like the MD thing was all a bad dream. I have a lot of work ahead of me this week- which is ok, better to be busy and to be productive then to be trapped in a state where I don't belong....

I'm trying to find a schedule for us that accomodates everyone while trying to figure out what my parents do... it's been a long time since I lived at home with them... my mother seems to read at night and for once last night I didn't fall asleep before everyone else- including the dogs. So I went up to ask her what I was making for dinner tonight, had she decided what she wanted... and she hadn't- but she says to me I have a quote for you...

My mother has been reading a Thomas Kinkade book, saw this quote and wrote it down on a piece of paper for me... for those of you reading my blog everyday you'll recognize why the quote is so important and why I was really stunned. This was the quote from p223 of this Thomas Kinkade book~

"God will open a new door for me... if I would only stop STARING at the closed ones...."

I copied the quote exactly as she wrote it. For those of you who don't know my favorite quote (and all it's variations) is by Alexander Graham Bell and basically goes something like this~ when one door closes another door opens~ at times the quote will be interpreted as when one door close a window will open but you all get the idea. I'm going to go open some doors today~ you too~ peace.

Re: A Word About Doors
welcome home... I meant to tell you that before... and you are now like an hour away from me...lol
I live in Clarence.
Funny how life throws those little 2x4's at us when it thinks we aren't listening, isn't it?

I know where you are, my grandmother used to live out there.  I just wanted to get married and I loved him so I didn't.... sigh... I should have listened to the signs...

Re: A Word About Doors
I met the man of my dreams (or so I thought) online and it was perfect- until I said I'd marry him, then all hell started to break loose in my life- literally. So from minute one I had signs that I shouldn't go to MD (where he lives), some of the signs I recognized- some I did not. Looking back I see them all...isn;t hindsight great? So my 2x4's from the universe have to do with how I changed my life; I basically traded one life for another which right now does not seem like such a wise decision. At the time though it was what I really wanted.

ahhhh.....well... we all make mistakes. And not listening to your subconscious...is a very common trait worthy of a 2x4....lol
I've had a few myself...
Gotta love kharma!

Re: A Word About Doors
I am so glad to see the two of you meeting. You are such wonderful people.

Raechel made her first visit to USA and NY and the first thing she did was crawl. She had never crawlwd before but that was her special move for upstate New York.

I love your daily quotes.

Re: A Word About Doors
Thank you, sometimes I'm tempted to put something snarky there (for the quote)- depending on my mood, but then I remember that I look for funny and uplifting things to read and not snarky comments and so I recant.

How exciting that Raechel crawled- it's only a matter of time now before she can walk, climb and well you know how it goes. Get ready to spend a lot of time bent over!

You can put up the snaky to I like both and I know you have a kind personality. I do both kinds of things.

Re: A Word About Doors
...so many doors you have walked through already...you are so far down the road. know it. this post is a blessing. it reminds me...i have found that if we can see the door all that is left is to walk through...sometimes the door seems what it is not...let's continue to remind each other to keep our minds wide open to the possibilities...with that in mind, we just walk through the doors and even what others perceive to be walls...girl, you are just fine...
