The fields are very picturesque. I especially like the one with the trees in it. I can hardly wait to see these in the springtime! By photos, of course! Although it looks like a place I would love to come see for myself someday. And, who knows, maybe I will....
Now I understood why the parental units of us kids just made the stipulation to stay on family ground while we were out, if they knew everything we did they would have had a heartattack! I told him I am not going to show them that particular hill. And reminded him my uncle had to take down some of those trees and fill in part of the crick so the real fun part of the hill/crick sled track is no longer there. He shot back an email going oh they will find it if not I am sure Cousin Brian will show them when he is out that way with his dogs hunting!
I'm like your brother...lol...bet they discover it and other stuff on thier own. That's the way kids are. As parents all we can do is try to protect them as best we can and pray that they have an abundance of common sense to go along with thier adventures. Bet you had a great childhood, growing up in this area.
My brother and I with our one set of cousin's we lived close to were trouble makers!
BB Gun wars, pushing each other out of barns and trees, jumping terraces on sleds, dirt bikes, motor bikes, four wheelers, horses, and trucks.
Just to name some of the things we did...........and granted this is normal country kids shit but just imagine 6 of us kids......me the youngest and the oldst 12 years older hten me........and coming from wild ass families on both sides! It is just easier to let my kids find out things themselves instead of me showing htem...........this way I dont' go grey early!
Have you ever considered writing a book? You are so descriptive! I love reading your posts and replies.
I decieded that since winter is half over with it wasn't worth buying them snow suites, boots, and the proper hats and mittens so they are using an old trick used by many when kids have outgrown things and us cheap or poor folks won't buy new gear till next year.........they have double jeans/pants on with each of them wearing a pair of DeLaney's (my girl) thicker stockings and then two pairs of socks. Three shirts. A tshirt, a long sleeve shirt and a sweet shirt under their coats. And two pairs of gloves
It was funny! They took a few days to figure out how to walk and run the way they wanted to!
And thank you. But we won't tell my kids they are cute.....they know and my boy is now working on getting himself a varsity bball girl's number that rides their bus in the morning. It is bad enough that my 7 year old player managed to get a jr high girl's number in OK. Now he is working on a highschool girl's number!
The sad part is these girls are too nice and just think he is "too cute" and give it to him. Then I get bugged can I call mom!
