With Randy's day off being Friday it always throws me off! I keep thinking Saturdays are actually Sundays!
I also just realized that Thanksgiving is almost upon us. We dont' have the funds to go home .......again....this year. And my parents came down in October for a long weekend so they won't be coming down. Plus both my mom and sister are clinci/er nurses for hospitals and they try very hard to make sure they work the same weekends and holidays. We have never really had a Thanksgiving or Christmas on the given days while growing up. Especially when so many off both of my family's are in medical professions either human or animal. So my sister and mom are both working Thanksgiving leaving their husbands and my sister kids to fend for themselves. My mom said they are going to try and get together the following weekend and do a small thanksgiving dinner. I didn't even bother to ask about my brother's skanky lil wife. I could care less if she is dinning on Hungry Man Dinners Thanksgiving as long as she is taking care of my nephew.
I have no clue if I am cooking up a Thanksgiving dinner for my household or if we are going to start a new tradation in our family. My friend Teri cooks homemade from scratch Enchiladias for her crew on Thanksgiving. She is like me and hates her inlaws, so she refuses to go to any holiday dinner they have. And they live back home and she is orginally from CA and has no real family but us. And we are more along the lines of a sudo family to them even though we can claim relations via marriage twice removed thanks to her hubby. I asked Randy what he would like to do on Thanksgiving and the only thing he suggested is we use some of his bonus check and get a few DVDs and snacks and the meal was up to me. So I asked the kids. They suggested we buy a turkey and cook later and cook something else. We put it up to a vote. When we have no family or friends for Thanksgiving dinner and we can't afford to go home, our Thanksgiving tradation is going to be Indian Tacos, various day long munchies and movie day. Neither my husband and I are big on watchign sports or holiday movies. So Movie day it is!
Anyway.......I made an easy paycheck Friday. I got a full days work done in 2 and half hours and got sent home early from the temp job:D Thursday the staffing agency sent down one of their assitance and she took all day to do half of the filing. The business was amazed that I got it all done in 2 and half hours. Simply put it is the difference between an office worker who has only worked in financial or straight business offices vs someone like me who has worked in Industrial Contracting and Sales offices and regular business offices. I know both lay outs of how to file things. I asked if I should come back Monday and they said yes unless you hear otherwise. So keepyour fingers crossed that they find more for me to do:D
Today even though it is 20 some degrees out we are going to bundle everyone up and take the dogs to the park. Hopefully I can snap some decent photos of hte kids so I can send the one I like to Wally World and get my Holiday picture cards made and sent out on time this year:D
