Remember when you wear Green  today regardless of your culture back ground,  you are celebrating a Man who decimated and killed thousands of ppl for having faith in a different path then he did.

You are promoting the celebration of  Religious Genocide and Terrostic Attacks done on many of today's ppl's ancestors.  No different then the Religious Terrorists of the Middle East for killing those who have faith or think differently then they do.

Hope your proud of yourselves!

Me and Mine will be celebrating our Ancestors by wearing various Snake jewlery, shirts, ink, and other items to show that our Ancestors are NOT forgotten and that they did NOT die in vain.

Re: Remember
Oh I am not going to post anything on St. Patty.  There is TONS of information about him on the net.  But I will tell you easy places to find him on searches.  Frist one is to just search him.  Second is to go to a Catholic site and look him up.  Also there are out and out saint sites that you can research him on.  Type in history of saints, and then look for him on those sites.

Re: Remember
Actually a lot of them give pretty acurate details especially if you go to the Catholic site ones.  They have TONS of Saint Books if your willing to buy one.  There are general ones you can find in retail stores but if your looking for more Catholic Based ones then to get a good indepth one find a Catholic Religious Store.

I used my mom's Saint Book during Confirmation to get my Saint's Name.  (Had to get confirmed before she would let me out of church and do my own thing).  I picked the first NA Indian Lady who is currently Blessed and on her way to Saint hood way back before any of the NA Indian Tribes in the US and Canada started really promoting her to become a full on Saint.  I picked her because she to me is the embodiemnt of what the New Testement speaks about,  she killed NO ONE.

Another firend of mine at the same time picked out Joan of Arc.  Joan of Arc was basically a catholic but fought basically for religious freedom for everyone and was accused and burnt as a witch.

Re: Remember
I didnt know sSt Patrick had killed anyone. Perhaps many in his name but not him.  Martin Luther sure brought about alot of death as do many clergy today. i say this as an ex clergyman who considers miost clergy corrupt but not them all.

Re: Remember
St Pattya nd his followers killed and decimated any "Pagan" who didn't step in line with the new religion of Christanity.  He desicrated religious sites and symbols in the name of his faith.  What is so funny is before St Patty converted to Christanity he was a ful on Earth Based Worshipper.  The same type that he was killing.

Ppl love to through out that the Irish Folks of that time tried repeatedly to murder St Patty but wouldn't you try to take out the person causing strife and killing off your way of life also?  It is no different than what is going on between the Middle East Terrorist that kill in the name of their faith.  The Christians are up in arms and going after any and allt hat are killing them for their faith.

Thus why so many folks can NOT understand why St Patty's Day is still celebrated so feverantly when he was just as bad as the Islamic Terrorists of today's age.  Darneys suggested that St Patty's Day be switched to World Religious Tolerance Day and I am all for that!

Re: Remember
Forgive me i didnt know that.

I knew the church did that but didn't know of his involvement.

I hope it wasn't true of St Francis or i will have no Male saints left.

One of the reasons i left the clergy was to get involved in a pacifist church.
I switched from being clergy in one denomination to a full time volunteer with the Mennionites.
