rv1501 has a great blog about natural homosexual behavor in animals.

Contrary to a lot of ppl's beliefs, homosexuality in animals is very very natural.  It is found in a lot of animals, documented by scientist in a lot of them.  Thus shooting down the whole fundamental homophobics arguements of homosexuals being "unnatural".

The reason why I am bring this up is a because no sooner did I read rv1501's blog I came across a news article on msn news about a children's book involving two male penguins that adopted an egg and raised the chic as their own.    The book is called:  and tango makes three.  Needless to say this book is causing some hub bub by the conservates and homophobes in some states are throwing fits over it........You know the routine:  "This isn't fit for children's eyes!"  or "We don't believe in homosexual behavor (like it is a behavor!) and we won't teach our children to accept it!" And similar reactions from fearful adults.  One library at least did some research via well known zoo's and didn't take the book off the shelf but instead of being in the children's section where it belongs they put it in the non fiction section.  And another library director is going against the coucil's decision and is keeping it in the children's section with no restrictions!  Good for her!

You can read the entire article on msn here

This made me go through the many many children's books we have to see if by chance we have this book........my kids get tons of books for holidays, birthdays, and even throw them in my shopping cart.........i dont' look at them..........i figure my kids books and the more the better........eventually we will make it through their entire two book cases full of them!:D  And we dont' have it.  I was kind of disappointed.  So that is on the two get list this weekend.  Randy's bonus came in and I will have enough to go home for my granny's funeral minus new tires on the big truck (taking the lil truck-better tires) and I can afford to get the kids a couple of books!  I am somewhat suprised our friends Bill and Billy didn't send it to the kids ..........those two guys are a big help in making sure the kids are open to everything and even consider the kids their kids......so it is up to mommy to go get this book!  The kids are on a penguin kick anyway might as well make it completely educational!

Oh and a lil fact that the article stated:  Penguin society is known for two males or two females adopting abandoned eggs!

Re: Homosexual Animals
I have a book on animal behavior from the 60's that says the only non-human animals that engage in homosexual behavior are zoo animals. But now scientists have observed many different species engaging in homosexual behavior most notably our closest relative the bonobo -
