These pictures are for myclette

We had a total of two screech owls in our yard.  This guy here is the male.  The female I could only catch during the morning hours and she was huge campared to this guy!  The sun kept me from getting any decent pictures of the female.

My daughter heard him outside of her window and spotted him.  My camara is good but it isn't a professional one so my zoom didn't go that far up in the tree!

Hope you enjoy these!

Erckkkkkkkkkkk got to remember I am a Screech!  I don't HOoooo Hooo anyone!  Well if I can get a decent picture of the female I will post them for you.  They are still around but they moved into the woods because of the cats and dog!  I can give you owls, foxes, badgers, raccoons, moles, deer, mt lions, coyotes, and occasional wolf if it comes down from the state park!  Not to mention a whole passel of other critters I cant' think of now!

I know they don't hoot, that was just my bad idea of a joke.   The barred owl is a hooter and a screamer.  (kinda like me)

Barn owls and barred owls are seen around the West University area and in some of the more wooded parts down here. I live in the urban / city area so I don't see them.  I just see a bunch a pigeons and crows. There is a cardinal and a bluejay that like to hang around my backyard though.

LOL Sorry I am tired I didn't get it until you said something!  Barred owl I don't think I have ever heard of those guys!  I'll I have to go look them up!

Those BlueJays are mean I tell ya!  Hope you don't have an outside kitty!  They dive bomb anything that moves!  If you start feeding the Cardinals the other purty birds start coming.  We had to stop feeding the birds because the BlueJays kept dive bombing my poor puppy!
