I was an asst manager at a family run bar and grill.  Just before I left, they had passed the no smoking ordinances, which was a 50/50 in my opinion.  I go outside and smoke so my house doesn't smell like an ashtray.  I generally don't smoke around people who are non or former smokers, just out of courtesy and I generally don't drink around alcoholics.

Now, that said, if someone is a non smoker, who is working in an environment that is a smoking zone, tough tookie, sorry, but it is a job choice.  There were smoking bars, non smoking bars, just like there were clubs that had the top floor as a smoking floor, the non smoking were the bottom two floors.  Entertainment Clubs are choices, not requirements.  It's like saying, "Oh, I am on a restricted diet and bitch that the local ice cream parlor doesn't have sugar free ice cream available, so I went into a diabetic coma eating the ice cream there.  

Also, notice, they said after 8PM they didn't have drink specials.  Okay, um, traditionally, Happy Hour is in that 4-7PM time period span.  So, go in earlier, when they are offering specials.  Sheesh, people, quit expecting everyone to bow to your wants and desires.  Sometimes, omg, the universe is NOT open 24 hours to service your WANTS.

Yes, I have always smoked in my hosue even with my children.  As I am trying to get the last pack a day gone completely, I will only move Randy to the mudporch during cold weather to smoke.  Not for any health issues but to make sure I am not picking up a cig!

 

I don't mind smoking ordinances for the most part.  I have always even with my amount I smoke have been able to go a few hours with out a cig.  Now I do think making bars smoke free is idiodic.  Randy and I get around the smoking ordinances that bars and restaruants put in place by not giving them business.  As do a lot of smokers.  They want to cater to a select group that is their business, just like it is our business to say fuck you you don't need my 80-100 bucks plus tip when we go to a steak house or nice resaturant.  We usually pay that much because our kids go with us and unlike a lot of ppl we see in the reastaurnats making their kids eat hot dogs or burgers our kids ask for a steak we buy it for them.

 

Anyway off on another subject again......EXACTLY these boozers want everyone else to pay for their drinks.  Well got news for them, drinking is their choice.  And yes I am an occasional drinker.  I don't drink much because I can become quite the lush and it is in the DNA off both sides to be a Boozer.  The bars can hike their prices up if they sooo choose!  If you want cheap drinks go at Happy Hour, make some ice tea or koolaid!  Or don't drink teh booze at all!
