Went to Stir Cove down in Council Bluffs last night for the Flogging Molly Concert!  What a blast!

There were a few issues that were overcome before I could even go!

The friend that was suppose to go with me and it was a gift to her couldn't go thanks to another one of her friends getting her youngest kid sick and then passing it on to her.  Thanks alot for that by the way!  Had this concert planned as a congrats you got your bach gift for T and someone had to go and get her kid sick and then her.  PIST ME OFF!

It took me a half a day to find someone to go with me.  Not a lot of people around this area know who the hell Flogging Molly is!  They aren't "main stream" so therefore most people dont' know them.

The person who was suppose to go got stuck at a meeting for her job.  Because her boss is an ass and scheduled a meeting on a Sunday night of all nights.  Simply because the boss is too selfish to give up one of her weeknights.  The second person I asked would have gone but she had a thing at work scheduled for the night.  Understandable on both accounts.  Have to pay the bills!

Finally the first person I asked suggested another person that I just meet not to long ago.  I am glad I asked her to go.  It was her first concert and we had fun for being in that middle age crowd!  Not stupid to get drunk, too old to be moshing, but young enough to be right up front!

So the second issue is after we get down there!  Nobody anywhere on their websites stated that Stir Cove did NOT provide seating.  It was bring your own chairs or sit on the ground!  Nor did it state that it was outside.  And if it was implied it wasn't obvous to those of us that don't go down to Council Bluffs that often.  We made due sitting on the ground and it didn't get to cold till around 9:30.  Thank GODS I didn't wear a tank top like I almost did!

Flogging Molly didn't have the two other bands that made the initial tour with them at Council Bluffs.  But that is okay, the snagged a band out of the South Side of Shy Town and one out of Kansas City MO. 

Flatfoot 56 out of Chicago is AWESOME!  I just may have to make my poor hubby suffer through some Celtic Punk Music next month on the 24th when they are back in OMaha! So going to either buy their CDs or go to Zune and download them!  I really suggest you check them out!

As for the second band, I and it seemed like the majority of concert goers thought they either sucked or took a dislike to them because of their abrasive fuck you tude towards their audience.  They didn't engage the crowd like Flatfoot  56 and then started insulting all the people who were NOT crowding the stage (all the barely 21 people).  Their beat is good but they over all sucked.  They were called the Architects.  Oh and what a way to insult not only the Council Bluff cops, but the Pottwaime County deputies and Iowa State Patrolmen that were monitoring the crowd!  I hope they got their asses stopped when they left!  On top of that they all were butt ass ugly thinking they were cute!

B and I sat on the ground a bit aways from the stage for these two bands.  And then when Flogging Molly came out we got up and joined the crowd by the stage!  What a blast!  We were only 8 lines deep from the stage and 2 lines deep from the make shift mosh pit!  It was great a 46ish tall gorgouse blonde lady got right in there with the Mosh pit! Her hubby a tall gorgouse blond built like a shit brick house stood there and was NOT moving to protecte his wife!  We were right behind him so had great view!

Then the third issue came about!  Some lil idiots, again barely legal, thought well we can't make our way up towards the mosh pit lets start another one behind me and my friend!  They hit me twice.  The second time I turned around and flatly out told them hit me again and I'll lay you fucktards flat!  All the people around me started laughing at them because the lil preppy I wannabe punks stopped and apologized immeditally. After that they were pretty decent concert goers and making sure NOBODY hit me and the older people and our age group thought that was funny! 

Then the fourth issue.  A lil squat blond bitch and her tall ass I wannabe a bad ass shoved my friend out of their way and stood right in front of her with no room to see.  So proud of my friend!  She elbowed the squat bitch and they still didn't move. I started elbowing the shit out of her man (rib shots) while I was clapping...they moved in less than 5 minutes.

We had no more issues after that.  Flogging Molly was kick ass kewl!  On their facebook page they asked those of us fans on it what we wanted to hear.  They ended up singing a lot of their older songs with a few newer songs.  And they really enjoyed it and made sure to let us know that we were their last stop on this tour and it was great to sing the older songs!

My friend and I booked out of there during one of the last few songs, I didn't want to get stuck in traffic.  I think we cued people off because no sooner did we start walking to the car so did a lot of other people! 

I had a freaking blast even if I got home at 11:30!  I still didn't go to school and still got stuck taking the kids to school because Randy is a lazy ass and figured I was home.  But I am refreshed and ready to tackle the world!
