A teenager smuggled rope, tape, and handcuffs onto a plane headed from Los Angeles to Nashville.  While authorities were quickly alerted to the plot and the plane safely found its way to Nashville, the wannabe 16 year old terrorists’ target was apparently Hannah Montana.  News Channel 5 in Nashville reports:

“Investigators said he planned to hijack the plane and order the pilots to divert the course from Nashville to Lafayette, La. The teenager wanted to crash the airliner into a Hannah Montana concert.”

Over the holidays, I visited a family with a young daughter who played Hannah Montana on loop, so I can see where such feelings might come from.  Needless to say, it’s one thing to think about flying a plane into a Hannah Montana concert, but another to actually try and go through with it!

Apparently the kid didn’t even attempt his hijacking on the right day – the concert he was targeting actually doesn’t take place until tonight.

Enjoy your trip to juvi!

No, I don't quite think it's that. I'd like to believe that you are joking, but the depressing reality is probably that you're not. Simply put, you're wrong, but I'm not going to say it's conservatives. It's you, and people like you who are so quick to blame the other side of the political spectrum for the social issues instead of trying to fix them. So, have fun with that.

Re: Terrorists Latest Target: Hannah Montana
Of you look at the parenting styles - as the next poster put it - they are the biggest factor and those have been driven by Liberal educators, Liberal politicians, Liberalism..

In the business I am in we look for ROOT CAUSE, not the superficial and the ROOT CAUSE is liberalism. It is permissive parenting - which was championed by Dr. Spock of "keep your kids out of the draft". You know I have seen kids that were brought up according to Spock and I have seen kids that were brought up according to Dobson and I generally like the Dobson Kids better. I'm old enough to see the results 40 years later and I don't like what I see with Spock. Spock was an anti-war liberal in the 60's and the liberal thought burned out his brains, or maybe it was the pot they were smoking. You see, the liberals were all doing it then, treating it as if it were right and that was it.

One of the big differences between WJC and GWB is that WJC claims he didn't inhale and GWB admits he did. You see, I can handle a guy who DID use drugs and admits it better than someone who lies about it. I maintain the reason linerals think Bush is lying to them is because that is what they do, they assume everyone does it. The reason they don't think screwing an intern is bad is because they would do it, given the chance. And I say that because the prevailing argument was from liberals was, "Everyone is doing it."

I don't blame anyone on the political spectrum for that reason, I blame them because they support idiot ideas that will cause problems. The conservatives are not blameless, they just aren't pushing the ones that are the most destructive.

I'm a trouble shooter, as I mentioned above on root cause. I also know that if you have an RC that is causing 80% of the problem and another that is causing 20% of the problem you concentrate on the 80% cause. I know that liberalism is a mental disorder, it needs to be treated to remove the root cause. The conservatives have some idiot ideas too, when we get the liberals to lean to the right we need to get the conservatives to get with the program too. The longer it takes to fix the liberals, the longer it will take to get to the conservatives.

When you can't discipline kids, they go bad. When the schools teach them things that are wrong, they go bad. And one of the things the schools and government are doing is tearing down the family. They undermine it in any way they can, yet it is well known that the family is the first defense against kids going bad. If a kid is in a home with two natural parents, they are 1/3 as likely to get into problems as other kids, and 1/9 as likely to get into trouble as other kids. But the mix in most schools at one time was 3 of 4 in two parent families, now it is less than 1 in 4 in many schools. Schools can no longer handle the problems. And the liberal thought, welfare, permissiveness, has driven the breakup of the family. The ease of getting divorce has increased the problem. No fault divorce has been a disaster for the public schools.

The teaching of moral relativity - that there is no right and wrong - has just plain been a disaster. Kids need boundaries till they are smart enough to understand. Moral relativism takes that boundary away. If it feels good, do it has driven more and more problems including teen pregnancy which is another disaster. With the availability of abortion, probably the most performed medical procedure in the country, the availability of birth control, the teaching of it in the schools, the passing out condoms, the tax money we spend, teen pregnancy should be a thing of the past. But it isn't. One place I agree with the liberals is, teen pregnancy is a major problem. But I go back to the root cause. It isn't kids having sex, it is why they are having sex. Permissive attitudes is one very major factor. Few parents restrict what small children can see. Five year olds are not ready for any form of sex education including "Billy has two mo mommies." We are screwing up the next generation worse than the last one.

My kids who are now in their late 30's learned all of these things but under a umbrella of morality, thou shalt not commit adultery and fornication was a sin being part of that creed. And their parents modeled this, not saying, do as I say, not as I do but living it.

How can you tell you teens to not have sex outside marriage when you are? Answer, You can but it isn't effective. The same goes for you justifying that it is correct, i.e. giving WJC or some Hollywood type a pass on it. It is either right or wrong. Teens don't make decisions on grays well.

We have tried to repeal the ten commandments and we are reaping the results.

I respect you, because you seem to be very intelligent. I can see most of what you're trying to say, though it is a little biased. However one thing I simply cannot agree with the implications of your last statement. This is America where we are given the freedom of religion, therefore no religion should be taken into account when dealing with the law as that would be trying to force those beliefs upon everyone else.

Re: Terrorists Latest Target: Hannah Montana
I am not in any way trying to enforce the ten commandments. I am saying that the last 6, the ones that have become a part of our common law which is the law of the land has been defacto repealed. I don't care if you believe in the bible or not, most people with any sense see the need to not murder, lie, steal, commit adultery, plot to take what doesn't belong to you and disrespect others - which generally starts with disrespect of parents. These are the last 6. I don't care if you don't give a rats about the first four, all I will say is the scripture says, "The fool has said in his own heart, there is no God. Most people are not content to be a fool privately, they blab it publicly..\

Please do not attribute to me the lies you have heard from others about Christians. Unlike the Muslim who will force conversions at the point of the sword (don't say they don't, they did it within the last year with a british newsman) I believe what I have is good enough that it will win in the free market of ideas.

Allow me to show you the repeal.

Bearing false witness - at the highest level of the government, the Clinton perjury. If you want to include the 693 lies of GWB, I will agree that there are 693 lies, but many of them are the lies printed about GWB.

Murder - Murder has been condoned in our country in the taking the lives of the old, the unborn, the less than perfect.

Stealing - Want to start with the selling of votes by congressmen?

Covet - Want to discuss taking property by eminent domain?

Respect - the shoddy way the last 3 presidents have been treated... Yep, Clinton was treated that way too.

Adultery - Well, What do we say. The breakdown of the family hinges on this one. And Clinton brought us, "Everyone is doing it."

Like I said, I am not trying to force it down people's throats, I am trying to show as Paul said in the 12th chapter of 1 Corinthians - "And yet I show you a more excellent way." What follows in chapter 13 is the greatest treatise on love.

Re: Terrorists Latest Target: Hannah Montana
and how do you take it when a liberal like obamah says he inhailed because that's the point of it?

oh, and have you ever met children from parents that are completely "conservative". they're just as messed up as children from "liberal" parents.

and really, it doesn't truely matter what your political views are on how you raise your child. most people tend to instill the same ground values in their children. most kids are taught that lying, cheating, stealing, and murdering are bad. ...AND sex isn't a modern day problem. it's a fact of life. teenagers are going to do it whether they see it or not. Get over it. help the teenagers out instead of feeding them to the wolves.

oh, and on the note that billy has two mommies, most little kids aren't really aware of how many mommies another kid has. don't worry about others house holds until you're own is a-okay.

and seriously, what is up with "I know that liberalism is a mental disorder, it needs to be treated to remove the root cause."?! This is the reason conservatives get a bad name. don't be ignorant. seriously.

Re: Terrorists Latest Target: Hannah Montana
Liberalism doesn't mean what you think it means. I wish people would learn their terminology.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism

The republican party is based in a large part on liberalism. What you are talking about is permissiveness. The two are not the same thing.

Not that I disagree with your argument, I think you are mostly pretty spot-on, particularly on the idea of moral relativity being a shit idea. I just don't like people wanking on about liberalism when they mean something else.

Sex education at younger and younger ages is a terrible idea as well. How people think that telling people exactly what to do and then telling them they can't try it out for another 10 years is idiotic. Shit half the impetus for teenagers to get it on comes from the fact that their schools a) don't want them to and b) aren't going to do anything if they do thereby providing the incentive (being bad is always gonna look good) and simultaneosly failing to come up with a decent deterrent.

WIKIPEDIA is an arm of the liberal media.... They will lie too. When I talk of liberalism i am talking of the obama/pelosi/clinton/micahel more/ stuff, not necessarily what it shoudl be because that is what it is today.

Parenting styles are also a factor. Some parents need to teach their children right VS wrong AND discipline them.
