I was gonna reply with a very thoughtful comment. Then I realized I don't really care.
Honestly, even with co-ed rooms I don't think the "promiscuity" level will go up very much.
Think about your college experience. Did you like your roommate? Did you really get along that well? Some people do, but most people either don't, or simply coexist. Regardless of gender I think that's going to happen. Just because a boy and girl room together doesn't mean they're going to end up in bed together.
And on the other hand, it's really just leveling the playing-field so to speak. Two of my friends at school were lesbians and were able to spend the night with each other all the time with no problem, but when I got caught spending the night with my boyfriend there were huge issues with the RA.

I don't have any "Going off to college" experience so I really don't have much to go on for an opinion either way. But I wonder, if things like this change, because people get tired of having to monitor, crack down on, and follow through with rules. As a parent I know I do, I get tired of it. And their have been times I have had to change some rules so I wasn't having to constantly keep track of certain things. But for me, putting my children at a higher risk of a possible pregnancy and/or STD wouldn't be worth letting my guard down. But like I said, I don't know if this situation would lead to much more of a possibility for pregnancy or STD's then what there already is.
Will be interesting to see what others have to say about this.

I think when it comes to sex , the reality is that weather or not you think this is a good idea will be based on your age level , for me being 28 i really don't see why its a bad idea who really cares actually after all its not just college kids having sex , we have public school where kids in Middle School and High school are having sex and no ones said we should stop co-ed schools there why because it wouldnt change anything .. people have been having sex since adam and eve obviously so its not going to stop anything and I suspect it will not change anything just because its allowed now chance are as was said theres been college sleep overs for ages.
But i am thinking that if some of us went and told our grand-mothers they would just be shocked at such outlandish ideas

And now the "-- C?" Is that supposed to be a mocking gesture?
"Hey everybody! I'm going to have a best album of the year competition!"
