MindSay Celebrates its 5th Birthday!

A few members recently reminded us of the fact that MindSay is now more than five years old!  We actually couldn't remember the exact date we launched, but here are a few important dates in MindSay history:

• April 12, 2003: We register the domain name MindSay.com.
• May 3, 2003: Adam makes the first test entry on MindSay from a computer lab at The University of Maryland.  Brian follows up with his first post on June 21st.
• June 25, 2003: The first press mention we can find of MindSay, on The Blog Herald.  Adam is convinced we launched on June 23rd, but cannot verify that fact, so June 25th it is.
  

Five short years later, here are some numbers representing how far MindSay has come:

• 1.9 million blog posts
• 5.2 million comments
• 170,000 users
• 200,000 different tags
• 23,142 gallons of coffee consumed by Adam and Brian

Thanks to everyone who has been with us from the beginning, or joined us along the way.  It's really cool to know that some people have been users for more than five years and can go all the way back to 2003 to see what they were blogging about way back when.  All remains well in MindSay land, and we hope to be celebrating another five years in 2013, when we'll be older than 30! (*gasp*)
