Nick Bollea (aka Nick Hogan, son of Hulk Hogan) was sentenced to 8 months in jail for reckless driving that left his friend in a coma.  Hogan will also be on probation for 5 years as part of his “no contest” plea.

The charges stem from an accident in August 2007 where Hogan totaled his Toyota Supra after losing control at a reported 100mph and slamming into a palm tree.

With his friend now likely to spend the rest of his life in a nursing home, do you think the sentence is harsh enough?  Or should the post-crash circumstances not play a role in the judge's decision?

Is there nothing better to report on?

The bastard should get more than 8 months.

Simple as that.

I don't care who he is, or who his parents are, he's an irresponsible bastard that has ruined his friend's life, not to mention his friend's family members lives.

I agree with Gwen on all points here.

Lets have some REAL news.

I do not understand what harm was done to you

Why give people such power over you?

Such angry against someone who we will never meet does not make sense

This is something for the families to deal with in this time of hurt and we should show respect to all.

Our own feelings and emotions are ours not theirs.

Why do we want to give such power and control to another over our thoughts and feelings.

wanting anything bad to happen to another human in anyway shows the lack of respect for human life.

Sometimes things happen in life that are accidents, whether irresponsible or not, should not be a reason to punish someone but it is a reason to become closer and help each other.

At this point and time both families need support not just the ones we think need our support

I love being reminded that I am a normal person who must abide by all laws unless I want to fuck up my life.

Nonsense.

I break laws all the time and I like my life just fine!

I don't think downloading full movies off of P2P programs counts, Mr. Tashner.

How about sneaking in and out of town with a truck with no license plate, inspection, etc?

Now that's just admirable.

i dont agree with you guys. 100 miles per hour is not that fast. Ive done 110 in my weakass little dodge stratus and been in full control of it.

Maybe he was dumb enough to drive that fast on a non highway, but hes already been punished with the loss of a friend, and most likely regrets every part of it, and has learned from his mistakes. 8 months in jail is not going to make the guilt any more severe.

Regardless of whether or not you were in control at that speed accidents happen. That's why they are called accidents. They are things that are unforseen but in retrospect the people involved should've used better judgement. That 8 months in jail will give him plenty of time to reflect on how easily he could've taken any innocent bystander's (or his passengers) life by driving like that. This guy's got more money than he has sense obviously and unforunately his rich daddy can't buy his way out of this one.

Re: Celebrity Justice? Nick Hogan Gets 8 Months In Jail
8 months is relatively short compared to the lifetime of hell his friend is going to endure don't you think?

Re: Celebrity Justice? Nick Hogan Gets 8 Months In Jail
people make mistakes, for all we know his friend could have been encouraging him to go that fast, and if not he probably could have advised him to slow down.

what if his friend had suffered the same injury doing the posted speed limit.. he would still endure a lifetime of hell. would it still be a crime?

what about solders in iraq who accidently kill their friends with freindly fire. do they deserve to do 8 months in prison because the victems family is upset?

Re: Celebrity Justice? Nick Hogan Gets 8 Months In Jail
You're comparing apples and oranges here. All of the possible situations and outcomes you listed would be equally as tragic but you're forgetting one thing. When you get behind the wheel of a motorized vehicle you are responsible. Not the person sitting in the passenger seat. You are your own person, sitting in the drivers seat, hopefully in control of the vehicle.

I have a strong feeling that he won't even do the full 8 months either. Another thing is how terrible of a driver can he possibly be to have wrecked in Florida, which in my opinion has some of the straightest and flattest roads of anywhere I've ever visited.

Unfortuantely, his friend's family doesn't feel like that would be justice. If your not willing to live with the consequences, then don't do it.

I would like to point out that this is the first and so far the only use of the "nick hogan" tag.

I hope someone remedies this situation soon.

He admits his guilt, he took his punishment and the guilt of what he's done to his friend, will last a lot longer than a few months.
