Was Obama born in Kenya and a citizen of Indonesia?

I have been blocked by featherdawn because she finds me frightening. I have not blocked her because I have not given up my intent and effort [if not hope] to enlighten her. I will be interested in knowing if she has any comments about the words below by Garrison Keillor. Will she find him frightening too because of his, I believe, well founded and thought through position?

GARRISON KEILLOR, SYNDICATED COLUMNIST:

We are a stalwart and stouthearted people, and never more so than in hard times. People weep in the dark and arise in the morning and go to work. The waves crash on your nest egg and a chunk is swept away and you put your salami sandwich in the brown bag and get on the bus. In Philly, a woman earns $10.30/hour to care for a man brought down by cystic fibrosis. She bathes and dresses him in the morning, brings him meals, puts him to bed at night. It's hard work lifting him and she has suffered a painful hernia that, because she can't afford health insurance, she can't get fixed, but she still goes to work because he'd be helpless without her. There are a lot of people like her. I know because I'm related to some of them.

Low dishonesty and craven cynicism sometimes win the day but not inevitably. The attempt to link Barack Obama to an old radical in his neighborhood has desperation and deceit written all over itMeanwhile, stunning acts of heroism stand out, such as the fidelity of military lawyers assigned to defend detainees at Guantanamo Bay -- uniformed officers faithful to their lawyerly duty to offer a vigorous defense even though it means exposing the injustice of military justice that is rigged for conviction and the mendacity of a commander in chief who commits war crimes.  If your law school is looking for a name for its new library, instead of  selling the honor to a fat cat alumnus, you should consider the names of Lt. Cmdr. Charles Swift, Lt. Col. Mark Bridges, Col. Steven David, Lt. Col. Sharon Shaffer, Lt. Cmdr. Philip Sundel and Maj. Michael Mori.

It was dishonest, cynical men who put forward a clueless young woman for national office, hoping to juice up the ticket, hoping she could skate through two months of chaperoned  campaigning, but the truth emerges: The  lady is talking freely about matters she has never thought about.  The American people have an ear for B.S. They can tell when someone's mouth is moving and the clutch is not engaged. When she said, "One thing that Americans do at this time, also, though, is let's commit ourselves just every day, American people, Joe Six-Pack, hockey moms across the nation, I think we need to band together and say never again. Never will we be exploited and taken advantage of again by those who are managing our money and loaning us these dollars," people smelled gas. {continued]

Sincerely in pursuit of happiness and freedom from fudking tyranny in AUSPONA,   Namaste,  David

What's up with that Dawn, anyway? I can't believe the crap she posts on politics. She blocked me, too, I guess because I listed the dozen disasters of the Bush administration and asked if it was an obsession with one issue—abortion?—that blinded her to the obvious. Man, that stuff she posts is rotten to the core. P.U.!

Stereotyping and Name-calling?
My advice, drop it and maintain your usual elevating blogs and discussion.

ALL THREE. Sorry I usually don't stoop to this low of nastiness, but she is.

But remember: Don't feed the idiots...

No Offense to you, but I have in the past enjoyed your blogs. You seem to be a person who strives to learn and grow. Do you think answering a blog post about Obama not being american is worth your level of awareness? Dont you think it is a bit beneath you to insult others for their views even if I must agree, a bit out there and for sure not to be taken seriously. Dawn is gunning for McCain, and because McCain is such a pathetic candidate, and obama such a clean candidate, people have to come up with this crazy stuff to justify their choice. I dont think that makes her some kind of monster, it just makes her someone who supports a candidate wherein she needs to wear thick thick thick rose colored glasses. My suggestion, dont waste on more minute on this and get back to posting some great blogs so I can read them! Thanks

Featherdawn a fudking idiot, insane, a racist or a little of each?
At what point do I draw the line?

Should I wait until she might call for the death of Obama as is happening openly at public political events promoting McCain and Palin?  Indeed, those two fudking, fear-mongering, undemocratic, knee-jerk, inciting, neoconservative goons are stirring the pot of unenlightened racism and hate.

Maybe, after some consideration, I might, I might take your concerns to heart and relent and accept your admonition. I have not rejected, out of hand, your valid feedback.  Thank you, david

Ahhh dont let anything bother you, vote for the right candidate, thats what really matters. Post positive informative info to help others make the same choice, but dont fall into the trap of shit slinging.....

My dad is glued to Fox, voted for bush twice and is currently singing the praises of this bitch from alaska, but I still love him. I never try to sway him or argue points because I understand that if people can actually believe anything that comes out of the Republican box, Fox TV etc., there is little hope of changing their oppinions with educated facts.  I just sit and smile when he goes on and on.........sometimes I have to choke myself so I dont burst right out with laughter. What else can we do but laugh at this crap and hope they keep coming up with crazy stuff, in the end it has to sway people to vote in the other direction.

Okay Dancer. On this issue [at this time] I am married to you.  Still, being honest, I must say that I am not feeling much, if any, remorse over my original post.

Of course, there could be a divorce in our future; ya know? Smiley    Good on ya mate, David

Thank you for changing the subject line. I am not going to answer any of your questions. your tone was not something I wish to participate and join in with.
